Two cents: Racism has no place in civil debate

In his first months as president, Barack Obama has taken on some big problems - health care, the economic collapse, Iraq and Afghanistan - so it's no wonder there's heated debate going on.

what in president Obama's speech on racism was untrue? what about his statement regarding people, ""clinging to their guns and religion," as you paraphrase. what about this statement rings untrue?

racism is based upon lies, distortions, innuendo, and the use of social marginalization to discount a person, or people based solely on their race or ethnicity. what president Obama said, in the examples that you site are not untrue in any form or fashion.

During the campaign, leftist pundits constantly implied or stated directly that objection to Obama's candidacy was due to white racism.

During the current healthcare debate, Carter stated that the vast majority of opposition was due to racism.

MSNBC went so far as to crop the clip of a black protestor carrying an AR-15, because it detracted from the racial angle they were promoting.

It would seem that race baiting as a political tool is widely used by the left as well.

point one: do you truly NOT Believe that there exists many white americans who disvow his candidacy and now presidency based solely upon his pigmentation? come on, at least pretend to be unbiased for an instance.

point two: jimmy carter was referring to the constant unprofessional, disrespect of the office of the president by some members of congress and some of their constituency based upon his race. again what is untrue about this contention?

point three: all i watch is MSNBC or CNN i saw that clip ad nauseum on both cable channels.

point four: why is it called, "the race baiting of the left," when left center advocates point out that race baiting exists from the likes of karl rove and company. he and his advocates aren't trying to say racism exists, they are trying to foment the fear of middle and lower class whites by constantly questioning our elected presidents state of birth, his college qualifications, his qulaificatins to even be president. tell me, what part of that cynical, political strategy is NOT mired in racist fear?
