Why has no one ever sued for rumors of being straight? Why is being called gay suable in the first place? It's not like being gay is a bad thing. I'm white, people that know me can see that, but if someone wanted to spread a rumor that I was black I wouldn't care. There is nothing wrong with being black and people would know I was white when they saw me. I think by this guy suing he is protesting a bit too much. You know what they say about the ones that scream the loudest and protest too much.

I see both sides of this, and am divided between an opinion like that directly above -- this is not, repeat not, a "bad thing" -- and an opinion that the psychological ramifications of a "cumulative effect" can turn people very enraged, indeed.

If Livingston is having to deal with this over and over and over and someone is stubbornly re-editing the article over and over, I begin to understand that he gets fed up and says, "Know what? Guess what's gonna happen now. Here's me, going to court. Wanna fight? Bring it on. See ya in court." I can understand that totally.

There are people in this world who will. not. put. up. with. shit. for the life of them. Not on their watch.

Then again, the first poster makes an excellent point that this implies "gay = bad," which is semantic nonsense on the level of a comedy routine.

Because apparently nobody minds being considered normally oriented.

even if the man is gay, NOBODY and i mean ABSOLUTELY NOBODY has the right to out him. it's his own business and that's the end of it. if he's gay or straight, then it's not up to anybody else to even think about that either. tell me, why do you or anybody else on this earth care about if someone else is gay or straight?

and how do you know that nobody has ever sued due to rumors that they are straight?

Naah, you know what I'm talking about.

You think you can somehow "cow" people into backing down. You know that I don't.

You know that every time you open your big mouth, I tell you go to choke on your own vomit and get over it.

This isn't about impressing you, self-involved dolt. It's about being clear that when you shoot your mouth off, you'll get an earful in return.

Don't like it? Go boo hoo to someone else, because I don't really give a shit what you think of it.

I don't care what impresses or doesn't impress you. I am the arbiter of my posts. I post them as I see fit. I do not consult you.

You rely on argumenta ad hominem and sticking your snot-encrusted snout into the business of others. I have to smile sometimes. You think you'll have some influence besides my thinking you're stupid, worthless and a scumbucket.

Don't like hearing it? Get the hell over it and find someone you can "cow" or "influence." Not gonna happen here. Sucks to be you.

BS Detector, if you can learn to argue anything in a sensible, non-snot-nosed manner, my attitude my change. Until then, stop pretending you have any influence. I'm not interested in your stream of horse shit and stupidity. It makes you look pathetic and it makes you look like a crybaby.

hehehe.... poor baby. Was I supposed to feel chastised by your little outbursts?

Adding to the confirmation of both your prejudice and stupidity, not only does it *not* suck to be me, if you knew anything about my life, you would be reasonably envious.

Not that you made any ad homs which, of course, confirms you to be a hypocrite. Anybody surprised?

I don't care whether someone is gay or straight. If someone spread rumors I was straight I'd just laugh about it and know I could prove otherwise.

This was kind (no sarcasm intended). I pictured you saying goochee-goochee-goo and giving me ice cream. I would find that kind.

No, stupid. But what you apparently actually felt was twice as bad.

... and then insecure enough to say this.

However, I am happy for you. I actually wondered if your life was miserable, and I will extend the *extraordinary kindness* of presuming you're telling the truth. I am VERY glad for you, and glad that you have some sort of happiness or goodness or good fortune; what have you.

Envy doesn't enter into it. I have a saying famous "among me" and those who know me: I only care about my money and possessions, because nothing else is mine.

It's a pity you guys never see me at my best. I am infamously nice/kind/generous/friendly. But here, on these boards, there are way too many selfish, savage, parasitic, spineless idiots for me to show it much.

You keep missing the point. You miss *why* I engage in those.

I have met one person on these boards who caught on to why I engage in those.

Shame on you, though, for defending your *good life or good fortune* because someone else implied you had none. I can't see or hear you. For all I know, you could be one of my favorite actors or authors.
