I'm a big fan and got really concerned tonight when I saw him discussing On The Waterfront. He's lost a great deal of weight and seemed to be using all his energy to do the promo. He's a great man and I hope he'll be okay.

My brother and I think Robert Osborne is terrific.

I saw Robert last night (7/10/09) while watching Birdman of Alcatraz.

He does not look well. Is Robert going to be okay?

The New York Post reported in April that Robert Osborne had been having kidney problems. As such, TCM built a set in New York City to film his intros, instead of requiring him to travel to Atlanta as he has always done before.

It is a blessing when he introduces the film, the grace in him, his sense of good taste, and class delivering to us a bite of how traditionally American people behave, with decency and good manners. He has not substitute. Anybody coming after whenever this happens if happens will have a tough job, and we should be comprehensive about this and don’t judge prematurely. God bless him and if is sick good health for him. I’ll pray for him and his well being.

I've noticed the changes in appearance and speech of Mr. Osborne. After finding the reasons for his weight loss I was somewhat relieved. I say so because I got to thinking that he is so wonderful and passionate, I'm just glad he is with us. And my thoughts seemed selfish and intrusive. I truly wish the best for him and pray for his health. Here is to many more years of a great guy who shares so unselfishly his love of film.

Mr. Osborne is a "Classic". I wish him the very best and hope that he will continue to host TCM for many, many more years. Class Acts and Class Movie Star are hard to find these days.
Thank you Mr. Osborne for your passion.

Robert Osborne makes it easy for his audience to connect not only with the movie but with him as well. I wish him well with his recovery, and am looking forward to having him back for good.

Do hope Mr. Osborne comes back but I have the gut feeling this is the end of an era. The way TCM is avoiding the truth as to why he is not on camera, smells a bit funny, oh well best wishes Robert, hope I am WRONG!

I wish Robert Osborne the very best whether he returns to his regular TCM schedule or not. He has already given so much to TCM viewers over the past 17 years that I cannot think of the appropriate words to properly thank him.

I am sending Robert Osborne my very best wishes. He has been responsible for many, many hours of wonderful viewing on TCM. I have been a fan of TCM since its very inception and only when he is not with us, do we notice how much we miss him. Robert Wagner and Jane Powell have filled in the past few days, but can't compare to his knowledge, warmth and love of movies. Get well soon, Mr. Osborne.

I am sending my best wishes for Mr. Osborne's full recovery. When he is presenting a movie, I feel that he is a friend sitting with me in my living room. We are all so fortunate to have him in our lives. God Bless you, Mr Osborne, and know that your return to TCM is prayerfully anticipated. Hugs, A BIG fan.

I wish we could find out about what his health problem was. Not being nosey, but it helps us to understand why he might have been getting more fatigued and losing weight. I thot maybe it was a bit of cancer. TCM says they've signed him to several more years so it appears that his ailment is able to be recovered from.
I have some old shows where he's kind of porky, quite a change. This is more than just growing older. Something serious has happened to his health. In recent weeks, he's also been shown only sitting, not standing, so for that to be a difficulty, it must be a health issue that is causing serious issues.

What makes Robert's presence so wonderful is that he adds so much historical perspective to his introductions. Im glad that TCM includes so much history with their movies, rather than just be a video jukebox running movies right after the other.

The other incredible blessing is that TCM runs them without commercials. Just incredible that they are still on the air. God bless them for their channel, and God bless Robert in his recovery from his surgery and difficulties.

TCM is the only channel I watch. I love the old movies, the sets and furnishings of days gone by. I especially love the descriptions and personal history given by Robert Osborne!. It is as if he is an old friend with me watching the movie. While watching any movie I follow along on ; and google actors biographies and the movies history. I equally enjoy the traveltalks by James Fitzpatrick and the interviews/retrospectives from the actors about their peers. Kudos TCM and Robert Osborne for a class act! I pray he is well and returns soon to TCM. The movies just arent the same without him.

I was hoping my perception that Mr. Osborn has lost weight and was having a hard time getting through his intros was wrong. But the comments on this thread have confirmed it. I have always liked Mr. Osborn not only for his comments but also because he added a real touch of class to being a movie fan. I dearly hope he will be able to return.

I, too, had been noticing a change in his appearance and actions in the last year or so. I love what he brings to the channel and would really miss him if he was not able to continue. I don't feel we are trying to be nosy in trying to find out what is wrong. I feel like he is someone I know and we only want to know what is wrong because we are concerned, the same whay you would be about a family member. He is entitled to his privacy, but we are all just hoping it is not so serious that he would not be able to return. I wish him a quick return to all our living rooms and a return to good health.
