"I see dead people" is something the main character in "Ghost Town" can accurately claim, but unlike "The Sixth Sense," this new film starring Ricky Gervais is playing this special vision strictly for laughs.

I am so disappointed in this movie. The script was funny & poinant in all the right places. The cast was fabulous as was their performances. But it's difficult to enjoy a movie when there is a boom mic visible in every scene!!!! The first time it happened I could've over looked it, but the boom mic is literally in every scene!!! I find it difficult to believe that during the editing of the film they thought the audience wouldn't notice it... As people left the theatre they weren't talking about the movie or the performances--everyone was talking about the boom mic...I think the reviews of this movie should warn people to come to this movie ready to concentrate past the boom mic that no one thought to edit out...sloppy sloppy sloppy boom mic guy, editing crew, director & producers. Not even worth seeing at the dollar theatres or renting unless someone re-releases it cleaned up & boom mic less. Too bad the actors did such a good job--it's a shame & the producers should send them a written apology for putting out a movie so technically sub-par.

It drove me crazy during the whole movie. It was a great movie, but that was very irritating, whether it was intentional or not.

I couldn't believe how sloppy it was to leave that in the movie. I asked the theater manager if he had heard anyone else complain and he said no. I wondered if maybe the screen was supposed to be shrunk (curtain lowered a bit) so we wouldn't see the very top? I still thought it was funny and I didn't see it in "every scene" but it was there in the hospital scene and when he was at the park. Strange.

A great cast, a funny story- all suffering under a mic boom operator that was a hack and a director that appears not to care.

They must have seen the rushes. What could have possessed them ?

If they are out there, stand up, be counted and explain yourself.

Notice how many very weak movie reviewers don't even mention it . Cowards.

I couldn't believe it either, it first showed up in the hospital scene where they tell him he died for just under 7 minutes, and I thought well that was a particularly funny scene where there was probably a lot of improv and they tried to re-shoot it sans boom but it never came out quite as good, so they just used the boom scene. But after the 4th time (and we counted 21 times where it shows up) I couldn't believe how sloppy they were being. I half hoped it was a running joke that would give its punchline during the credits.

Could it be some sort of attempt at comedy?
