He's still a working class dog

There are 6 comments on the Chicago Tribune story from Aug 15, 2008, titled He's still a working class dog. In it, Chicago Tribune reports that:

Can you believe Rick Springfield will turn 59 this month? It seems like just yesterday the heartthrob commandeered radio waves with the ultimate coveting-your-neighbor's-wife song, "Jessie's Girl." All right, ...

I like your humor about JG in this little write-up! Rick is pretty amazing live. The new music from Venus In Overdrive will go over GREAT in his high-energy live shows.:) Rick has more energy than probably any "almost-60" year-old person I've ever known! I hope he never stops writing incredible music. This CD has been long-awaited (5 years) and it does not disappoint!!

THis is the most amazing CD I have ever heard. It is like some kind of lyrical drug you have to keep on taking, man. I cannot see how this CD is not all over the radio stations, especially after coming in at #28 on Billboards hot 200!!!!
Amazing, amazing CD.

I agree with Danny this CD rocks and keeps on rocking. Most importantly, I think your "review" was offensive. Your referral to "the ladies" inferred that a woman CANNOT appreciate music unless a "hot guy" is behind it, or the fact that a man CAN appreciate it for the same reason. Your review was simply an opinion of a musician's capabilities based on his sex appeal. I don't believe you listened to the CD or provided an objective review, and you call yourself a journalist?

PGAndy, I am a straight man who just went alone to last Saturday's Rick Springfield concert in Milwaukee. I noticed that the audience was >90% female, so I suddenly remembered that he had also been a GH star & that his main fan base was girls who considered him a heartthrob. The few other guys there were with their wives/ girlfriends & half of them looked bored, as if they had been dragged there.

Nobody said in the Tribune article that women CANNOT appreciate other rock stars--only that Rick is appreciated more for his hunk factor than his music.
