Aging rockers settling into suburban groove

There are 71 comments on the Chicago Tribune story from May 29, 2009, titled Aging rockers settling into suburban groove. In it, Chicago Tribune reports that:

For Frankie Sullivan, "Eye of the Tiger" was the ticket to a new world. The 1982 Grammy award-winning theme song of "Rocky III," which he co-wrote as a guitarist in Survivor, catapulted the band to cult status and introduced Sullivan to all the glitz of rock stardom.

I was just out the Navy in 82 and was at a B-day party at Frankie Sullivans' moms house. It was nice, a little loud but his mom ran the show. Everyone was very nice to me that I met. I do not even know they were members of Survivor at 1st. My girlfriend knew them plus and few of my friends did too.

People actually stalk Richard Marx? C'mon. What an inflated view he must have of himself. I know the town he lives in and it has 20,000 + people, and plenty of folks more famous and far more rich than him. Naming the town in a Tribune article is a problem? Maybe he doesn't want people to know what beauty parlor he goes to.

Muddy Waters lived in Westmont. His family is still there. There is a park named after him - Muddy Water Park in Westmont.

James Young of Styx back in the 80s and 90s lived in Western Springs (still might be there).

During that time I worked part-time (while in high-school) at a local grocery store in Western Springs at Wolf/Hillgrove. The store had curb-side pick-up, so on occassion I would load James Young's groceries in the back of his mini-van (Yes, he had a mini-van). I never bothered him (just did my job), although I knew who he was (I had Styx CDs).

ANyone remember when B96 played Eye of the Tiger every 3rd song......everyone thought it was the greatest song of all time at that point.

When I was growing up in AH, a guy named Mike Tyson played for the Cubs.(Not the boxer. A white guy who played 1 year at 2nd base in the early 80s)
I remember being so nervous peddling my bicycle near his house.

I'm sorry, but I hate that song.
It doesn't say what he does for a living now.
Can it be possible that one song has financed his lifestyle?
