The government allowing UAE to buy 10% in Virgin is not only going to add more pollution when they are slugging industry a carbon tax with the bullshit intent to lower carbon in the atmosphere, they have not learned by the monopolies and how they get a monopoly in the first place....there should be a rule that no company can own more than 20% of any market be that grocery, airlines, media etc....if they allow the United Arab Emmirates to buy into Virgin it could well mean the domination of our skies by one sole airline and we saw how Qantas controlled things like fares and tariffs when they were once the monopoly. Do governments ever do what is in the best interest of it's country?

So c'mon people. COMPLAIN. Virgin planes will now be serviced in Sinagapore or spain. Exactly what Qantas want to do. Virgin plains will have Etihad pilots - being paid 17% less than Qantas pilots.

Oh thats right - Virgin isn't a union stronghold or ex government owned business.

That isn't broadening the market that has the potential for a monopoly...broadening the market would be to introduce a new player...methinks.
