Kudos to these three men of high charcter and partiotism. They have not fled their beloved Cuba but have faced the cost of the struggle for the dream of Jose Marti's Cuba.

Oswaldo Paya is at the top of that list! He opposes the U.S. Embargo as counter-productive and refuses, wisely so, to take any funding from the U.S. government. Such funding only makes him appear to be an agent of the U.S. foreign policy and give the Cuban government an excuse to imprison dissidents.

Further, Paya favors contructive engagement with the United States and sees some form of compromise as essential to change in his beloved homeland.

May his tribe increase!

Nope! It is just me! Can't handle the fact that I have taken the stance that I have and that I have actually held all along. The Embargo is a failed, counter-productive foreign policy, we should also engage in constructive engagement with Cuba - I agree with Paya!!! Guess you'll now accuse Paya of being a Castro asskisser also!!!!

Seems having an intelligent debate on this site is like trying to roll a snowball through hell. Most just want to spew venom and insults and seem incapable of having a sane, civil debate based on documented and well researched info. LIEger is president of the "Let's fuc* over this site and make certain no one can have an intelligent dialog or civil debate based on the content of the articles or the actual topics" Club. He actually delights in and takes pride in destroying any good debate. To him, all must be as he likes it or it must not be at all. Sounds like the Castro brothers to me.

A good Cuban friend told me , that in a weird and sick way it is like they compensate for cowardness with zero Miami political ,police standards and political corruption.

“The real cowards were the people who ran from the good fight with Fidel Castro. The real Cuban patriots...either died fighting Castro or still are in Cuba fighting for freedom,” and he said,“The motto during our American Revolution was,‘Give me liberty or give me death.’ To too many Cubans,” he added,“the motto was ‘Give me liberty or give me Miami.’”

The embargo is a failure but no less of a failure than the majority of Miami-dade Cuban politicians and city officials.
