hey come on people, what's with all the bickering? i happen to like both Green Day and Rancid, but that's not what this is about - it's about Billie Joe releasing a solo track (called Mechanical Man), which i wouldn't exactly call him 'going solo' as it's a track taken from Live Freaky! Die Freaky!, an amazing, yet slightly sick, film. and if he does go solo, i reckon he'll lose a lot of fans for 'betraying' Green Day or whatever, but it's quite simple - if i like the music, i'll buy it, if i don't like it, then i wont. ok, i'm finished now :).

ummmm... for whatever it's worth, both Armstrongs (Tim and Billie Joe) have been good friends for many, many years. Billie Joe, the "not punk rocker", helped write "Radio", a Rancid fan-favorite. So who cares... really. I'm sure we all have better things to do.
I hope someone other than me is having a good laugh at all the irony here.
