Hazaar rahei mudke dekhi kahin se koi sada na aayee-
Thodisi bewafai-my first movie in theatre.
3 to 6 pm-Milap theatre-kandivali-mumbai.

I request my friends all here to share their childhood memories.

Aaj bicchde hain kal ka darr bhi nahin-the song from this movie.but as on date the lyrics for all his fans go this way-
Aaj bicchde hain kal ka darr bhi nahin, par gum to zindagi bhar ka hain.
Kakaji-Kehnewallon ka kuch nahin jaata,
Sehnewalle kamaal karte hain,
Kaun dhoonde jawaab dardon ke,
Log to bas sawaal karte hain, aaj bicchde hain.....

My 1st memory of watching Rajesh Khanna was seeing 'Haathi Mera Saathi' at Hounslow West Odeon back in 1971. I still have the poster.

Like asli jat has said in the above post, my first movie as far as viewing a movie in theatre is concerned, is also Hathi mere sathi in 1971 at Milini theatre, at my small birth place, Kharagpur, west bengal. The association continued with RK from that film onwards . I was eight years old then. RK is physically no more with me from 18th July, 2012. Emotionally, he will be always within my innner hear till the time I go and meet kakaji in the heaven. Jindagi ke safar main jo gujar jate hain mukam woh phir nahin aate

True nag shankarji, emotionally he will always be there in our hearts.
Hum unhe chahkar bhi nahin bhula sakte.can't forget him as he is attached to all of us since our childhood days.
Here I remember a song sung by Mukesh-aaya hain mujhe phir yaad woh zaalim gujra zamana bachpan ka!

i was around five years old when i first watch kakji Bandhan on T.V in year 1985 . After watching the Film in neighbour house ( only one T.V was available in village of Gushi Kupwara , Kashmir at that time ) i remember when i reached back to home i request my father to Name me as "Rajesh " as my addmission in first class was supposed to be done on coming monday in govt school.( those days students get directly addmission in firt class ). From that day onwards i dont think i have missied out any day when i have not thinking about our kakaji.

Rajdreamji,I watched bandhan in 1986 on tv,I was 15 years then.and I was so excited and attracted by the chemistry of RK and mumu that I watched every movie they had acted in together, several times.
I myself don't remember how many times I have watched Aap ki kasam.

After thodisi bewafai I watched Kudrat.but before thodisi bewafai,I had watched many movies of RK on Doordarshan,6 to 9 pm on sundays.Really, kya din the woh!
DD used to show movies only on sundays-6 to 9 pm and used to announce on saturdays in SAPTHAIK,a weekly schedule.I used to watch Sapthaik just to know about the movie to be shown on sunday.Bhakti barve, wife of Shafi inamdar, used to be the host and when I used to hear about the cast of the movie to be telecasted for e.g.she used to mention like-sunday 6 pm the movie shown is Safar and the cast is Rajesh Khanna, bas phir kya tha.I used to jump and then Intezar till sunday evening to see my superstar RK.
Seriously kya din the woh!Bachpan ke din bhoola na dena, aaj hase kal rula na dena-

In early '70s (cannot recall which exact year, bacause I was only watching the re-runs), I watched Haathi Mere Saathi 4 times in a span of a week.

....not much to do in those years except some stupid "school work" that they termed "homework"

Kumarji....you are like me....I was also attracted and charmed by Rajesh + Mumu chemistry...my first film was Aapna Desh.

as you wrote.....
"I was so excited and attracted by the chemistry of RK and mumu that I watched every movie they had acted in together, several times.

you just echoed my version....

My first film of RK in a cinema hall, was "Hathi Mere Saathi"...I was a small kid then...watched the film in my mother's lap...then I used to dance with the tune of the song..."chal chal mere haathi..."being played by my elder brothers and sisters...in my childhood...I remember,I was in love with 2 movies...Sound of Music and Haathi Mere Saathi...
later I watched the film many a times....and truly felt RK and his Magic and was deeply touched by the lovebond of RK and Ramu!!

last sunday...again watched the film on TV...and enjoyed so much ,ca'nt say !!..as if I got back my lost childhood!!!
and in my opinion,...Haathi Mere Saathi is the most popular children film ever made

My first movie of Rajesh Khanna was AVTAR 1984.

Shabana:Ek galati to bhagvan bhi maaf kar deta haia.

RK:Maia bhagvan nai hu.

Other was
"Maia apni Zinndgi ko rote hue nahi dekh sakta.

What a realistic & superb dialogue

RK:Maia marne se pahle marna nahi chahta,
Aree maia to marne ke baad bhi Zinda rahna chahta hu.
