This is alos falsely projected as indian cinema to the world. That's the pity.
Really, the Indian cinema has lost its glory and soberness since 1976 onwards with Amitabh type multistar films, full of gore and violence and cheapness and nudity. Today it has turned into money making facotory and no emphasis is given today on merit of performance of actors or subject of the films. All focus has been imposed on gaining money only; how to make the film a Big Hit with manipulation and false publicity stunt in India and abroad by making fool to the today's idiot viewers. If today's cinegoers completely boycot today's nonsense films which are full of nudity, sex scenes and violence without any performance, how could these films are made by the film world.

major,
1 correction. Bollywood cinema is not indian cinema. That is a totally wrong projection. Kerala, West Bengal & Tamil nadu make much better films.

I do agree, but in general the state films find limited audiences in comparison to bollywood films. So I used the term. Thanks,

I recall that Haathi Mere Saathi was a remake of a Tamil movie and it was produced by a company in Madras (well Chenai) rather than the normal ones in Bombay (Mumbai)?

Haathi mere sathi was remake of the MGR tamil film " Nalla neram" which was produced by Devar, a big film producer down south.

His company produced another film with kaka - "Bewafai" co starring rajinikanth, meenakshi, padmini & tina munium which came a cropper at the box office.
