The biggest mistake being made by all is to assume that there was a fall in his career graph in mid 70s. he lovedfamily values and spiritualism and this is reflected in films like maalik and Tinku , anuraag, palkon ki, naukri etc. he somehow wanted to adopt a slower pace and do films that appealed to him as a human being and as an actor and he saw that as a new phase in his life. maybe he expected them to do ok if not as blockbusters but when he saw the hoo haa being created over their BO performance he had no option but to get pulled back into rat race films like amardeep and C babu.
Personally therefore he had no regrets about the films he made - ever. he was a very different kind of creative person- very emotional and full of life and not just a machine thirsting for hits like some contemporaries and that clearly showed in his decisions . its a pity too many people only look at him very very superficially and make sweeping comments. There is no serious cojourno in Hindi films who really understands artists like him and guru dutt or rajji.

Yes, not many people really have understood Kakaji or his immortal legacy, not even his family members. Otherwise, they would have opened the museum at Aashirwad the very next day after his death- 19 July 2012. Pata nahin diwali ka diya jalaya bhi ki nahin. Aur, in mein se hi koi stage par Padma award lene jayega.

Yes dadamoniji,u r absolutely right.
Pehchaan ne ke liye andar ki aankhein chahiye jo Bhagwan ne shayad inke family members ko nahi di.
This is the harsh reality of life otherwise yeh Bandha kuch aur jalwe bikher jaata!!

Rajesh khanna as an actor aur insan ko samajne ke liye to unke family member ke pass na hi dil aur dimak hain. Varna, dimple us tarah ki bevkoofi ni ki hote jo 30 sal pahle rajesh ji ko chod kar chali gaye. Aur aaj besharm hokar Aashirwad mein rehne lagi. Kash, rajesh khanna ji ko ek aur doosri Aachi patni mili hoti to acting ke khetra main kakaji kuch aur kamaal karte.

I fully agree with the views of kumar 14 ji and Dadamoniji.

idont know why but in his last films like jaana and wafaa - whatever might be their merits as films- kaka adopted a loud , comedian style of acting . Thats not kaka. Even in Dhanwaan or Amardeep or Avtaar or Dharam aur kanoon & other action films also like ashanti where he plays rich/powerful men with a difficult character angle, he never - hardly - raises his voice. see for eg the menace he generates in the scene with rakesh roshan in dhanwaan when he asks him to take the money from the safe and leave reenaroy or many scenes in redrose. I hope we get to see more of this kaka in Riyasat where he plays a don.

I have so many times has said just one aspect of his career-- He is the only Superstar who had the guts to perform in social films with high moral and values during cheapest and downtrodden era of film industry in 80s and after his involvement in active politics during 90s he just gave us Khudai and Aa Aab Laut Chalein. Yes, he did not take interest to continue his career in 2000s as well. This is to biggest loss for us.

Anyone who does a Maalik and a Naukri shows supreme confidence in hiself , loves the art of cinema and gives a damn about the box office.
he was a greater off beat star than naseeruddin or girish karnad or any one else.
The press in India is shit . They never commented on this .

My dear friend you are very true.

I have seen AVISHKAR when DFF and new broadcasting showed KAKAJI 10 hits in three days in Srifort.

It was amazing character created by RAJESH KHANNA JI. Dho diya sab art actors ko.

There was a seen when RK light the cigarette and Sharmila hit the cigarette three times and at last he slapped her. Maia shbdo me bayan nahi kar skta KAKAJI ke expressions.

Yes, there are innumerable outstanding scenes containing his class and nonparallel facial expressions in golden films.

In fact Rajesh Khanna's stature is far far ahead of just hit-flop formula of Bollywood. His flop films as well contains superb performances wehreas in most of the others' cases super hit films contain garbage acting......

There was no "fall". He came down.

It was too cold, anxiety and too lonely to stay long on top of mount Everest.

There was also lacking in supply of rations at the top.

Amitabh Bachhan is still climbing. He will never get there......

Soory Radzi Bhai but I have to disagree with you on this one.
Although AB will never get the nsuperstar status but we can not take it away from him that he has replaced all at the top, even at his age he still is the current number one.

Like Abhijit Ji say, "truth will always be the turth"
