Mr. Walsh,
It seems that you and the companies that you partnered with are doing alot of "speaking out of the both sides of your mouths", so you must be in politics.
It is a shame that your comment "people feeling slighted" because they did not meet Miss Osment, really misses the mark. Please review your own photos on your web page...does this event truly look organized to you? You also comment that there was a fire marshall there that patrolled the stage for the duration of the event...again take a look at your own photos...your stairway was packed with attendants. I don't know about you but that is a definate safety hazard right there. I know if you go to concerts, to the theatre or even to a baseball event, the stairs are not to be blocked in case of a fire or emergency.
I do feel that maybe there were parents that their main objective is to get their child and autograph or a picture. However, remember there were children involved here, and your security/safety measures were definately lacking.
How about a simple...we're going to try and do better next time. Unlike Longbatham Strategic Marketing stating that maybe parents should take a look at themselves, well guess what...the parents didn't organize this event... The Steamtown Mall and other organizations did.
Take a lesson from the Chicago event that was held just a few weeks earlier:
'Hannah' fans, ya think?

Just how big is Disney Channel's hit "Hannah Montana"? So huge that the star power of its second-string stars, Jason Earles and Emily Osment, was enough to bring thousands of shrieking pre-tween girls out to Brookfield Zoo on Sunday for a meet-and-greet.
The first 1,300 kids in line were given wristbands -- all handed out within 90 minutes -- to allow them a few quivering seconds with the preternaturally poised teenagers. One of the organizers said a few parents and their kids showed up on Saturday night asking if they could stay overnight in the parking lot. No such luck. They were, however, allowed to get in line at 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Gates opened at 9:30 a.m., but the first autograph wasn't signed until 1 p.m.
**I noticed you have taken the option to leave comments on your web site...constructive critcism is positive and negative, learn from sites like Tripadvisor, or Travelocity...where you can leave positive and negative feedback. Customers will respect you more when you give them that outlet, not just allowing yourselves to only have positive feedback (it looks very fake on Steamtown's part).Again, you definately should be in politics, maybe you are and we don't know it.
I hope to see improvements at the Dora Event...even though she is not a "big star", Steamtown better be prepared for those young children, because I can guarantee you "parents will be watching" to see what efforts you make to improve the safety for the children.

Sometimes, you can have too much of a good thing. Attendence-wise, Emily Osment's appearance at the Mall at Steamtown was a resounding success.
