The import version of Welsh tenor Paul Potts' debut CD contains an unlikely candidate for operatic treatment: Everybody Hurts , a loping ballad by the Georgia rock band R.E.M. Potts not only covers the 1993 ...

Paul Potts already has a pretty good fan base here in the US, thanks to YouTube. One video of his audition posted there has around 21 Million views, and there are a few hundred more videos of his performances posted there.(I enjoy watching the audition video and seeing Simon Cowell sitting there, mouth agape with amazement, listening to Paul sing.)
Paul's CD, "One Chance" has been #1 in 13 countries.
I find it puzzling that a lot of Americans have never heard of Paul, we really fell behind on this one. His voice is incredible.
By the way, I always hated Opera, I'm a classic rock fan, but I just love Paul Potts.

I think of Paul Potts as "The Man Who Made Rick Rubin Cry." Check this out:

I recieved the link to the first UTube clip from a good friend at a time when I was in the worst depression of my 70 years on this earth. I can't tell you how uplifting this film clip was to me. I believe it saved my life. I've watched it almost every day since I got it, last September.
Paul Potts' story is the most inspiring one I've ever heard. He's been given a beautiful voice and he's done his best with it. I think he is a wonderful singer and his first CD is great! Thank God he got that One Chance.

Fan of Paul since I saw his performance on UTube. Have his One Chance CD and get all his updates on my email. I am so happy for him and his success....he truly deserves it as he truly has an unforgettable voice.
Best to you Paul.

I believe it's inaccurate to say that Paul's fan base is overseas. Yes most of his touring has been done there so far and yes his album probably sold better in Europe, Australia, and other Pacific countries than it did here but there are a goodly number of us here in the good old USA that appreciate the voice, the humbleness, and the plain old charisma of Paul. Though I was unable to attend his Florida performances due to finance I'm greatly hoping he'll appear in Atlanta in the near future so I can see him perform in person.

Paul Potts in concert in England breathtaking. Something about his voice is unique. Paul connects up with the soul when he sings, he is what singing is about.
