"to be filed". When are "reporters" going to stop being pimps for attorneys? It seems it is not news until a suit "is filed". Until then, it's just another attorney blowing smoke up the public's skirts. The media plays PR person for the bottom feeders all the time. No wonder the media isn't respected or trusted.

"We've got DWI on #81 on the defense, and a personal foul, excessive force, on the offense. Penalties off-set repeat 1st down."

At 6'6" and 270 even at 66 years old it still took 10 cops with tasers to subdue him? With our depleted D-line maybe Childress should give him a call.

Geez Carl, attempt to grow old gracefully. If you have few too many, call a cab or a limo, its not like you are hurting for cash!!

We should attempt to get Carl help, not poke fun at him. He obviously has a problem and a disease. Where's his family?

Of course he is suing...he thinks he's untouchable. This guy is about the most sexually harrassing, drunk, and high on blow former member of the Vikings. I truly admired him all my life until I met him in 1997. He tried to pick up my wife and others at a Vikings game we attended that year(15-1 Season...I was in heaven...sports wise). My company "used" to sponsor the Vikings Children's Fund. He was sent to our suite to meet my clients. He spent the entire time trying to get laid. I asked him to leave and that was that. My childhood admiration turned into being ashamed for him and....pity.
When I heard he was arrested, and punched two cops, I thought maybe NOW he could get help. NOPE.
It's Whitey cops fault I was caught. ENOUGH already. If he is going to make a mockery of the justice system, they should go national with the video of his arrest. He will be put away foe at least 10 years. That is how long I would have to go away if I punced an officer...let alone two.

He is not above the law and is an EMBARRASMENT to the Vikings organization.

Didn't Eller own several liquor stores during the 80s and 90s? I think they were called "Touchdown Liquors".

Use spell check once in awhile, it'll make your comment flow a little better, and no, the Vikings are an embarrassment to themselves, they really don't need any help in that department.

Whether or not he was drunk, to follow him into his garage and use excessive force to arrest him is not the way this should go. If, in fact the video tapes have been changed deliberately, that needs to be investigated. If even some of these discrepancies exist, he has a right to sue. The police knew this would be a high profile case and to try to hide any evidence of impropriety makes it very suspicious. He needs to face the charges, but the police need to be held accoutable for any excessive force also.
If this were not a high profile athlete, this would have been swept under the rug and no one would be the wiser.

Only You and Carl Eller would be stupid or drunk enough to take on 6 cops just because they followed you home and you did nothing wrong.
All he had to do was comply and then let it play out in court.
But no, he had to have something to counter with and what could be better than, police brutality (6 on 1).

Mr Viking fan, that would have been 1998 that the Vikings went 15-1, maybe you should lay off the sauce.
People seem a little harsh on him since he's a former athlete. Inserting Jose Mendez as the perp, and you have to ask WTF is up Mple Police Dept? All of the cameras were turned off? Reports are conflicting with reality?

Now I'm not saying that Eller didn't deserve a knock upside the head and a shock or two but, to have no proof of a warranted beat down only furthers the problems of the police department. I also find it suspect that a 66 year old who spent 25 years getting his body knocked around could not be subdued by two or three cops without the taser and clubs.

Anyone who has really seen Carl in person knows this guy is in pain from just walking around. The only athlete who gets stronger from constant punishment to the body is Rocky, everyone else tend to go in the other direction.

More Truth-
You are right, 1998 was the year...and it was 10 years ago. Tough to exactly remember the year. How does that make me a drunk? Kiss my ASS.

Eller is still a jerk off and he needs to get into treatment...and he needs to do time for his assault on two police officers.
