Preaching the Good News

In 1935 the president of the Watchtower Disciples corporate religion replaced the good news of the 1st century Christians with another claiming that individual humans will live forever right here on planet earth without ever having to experience death.
Aside from the obvious what makes this Watchtower teaching suspicious is that the Apostle Paul in his attempts to counter and discredit those who were wanting to pervert the goodnews about the Christ said in writing:“even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to You as good news something beyond what we declared to You as good news, let him be accursed” Galations 1:8

1st and foremost the good news (gospel, glad tidyings) is centered on faith in the Christ were as the evil influence of these accursed ones maintained that entrance in to an approved condition before God had to be earned by way of works or obedience to elements to the Mosaic Law which some of the Galations succumbed to this teaching.
According to wikepedia the Greek word Paul used for accursed was "anathema" which carry's a meaning of,[subject to dire calamity's] banished, exiled, excommunicated,(disfellowshipp ed) denounced, and accursed. Wik says "Because the Greek word anathema meant things offered to God, it was used to translate the Hebrew word "herem".... Thus Paul wasn't inferring death as "herem" is used at Leviticu. But eventually, the Romans did slaughter the Jews and others at Jersulam. Leviticus 27:28-29
Strong words from Paul? Yeah, these are strong words and Jehovah's Witnesses and their corporate leadership may want to heed this as a warning not to try and seduce or persuade these ones who may be in a called condition before yhwh God to your works based, other good news.
Some knowledge of the Watchtower teachings you will discover that entrance in to a membership relationship as a watchtower disciple is not possible until an outward manifestation (works) of a persons faith becomes a pattern and practic such as attending meetings, grooming and field service. Only then is a person in a position for the possibility of salavaton and a future life on earth.

A peron instructed by the Watchtower may resort to James 2:14-26 to show works evidences their faith. Although, James is pounding on faith based works, that faith based works are necessary progression only after one has entered into an approved standing before God. In other words, its not somthing that starts the relationship out as in the case of Abrahams righteousness and his susequent faith based works.
The idea of entrance in to Gods immediate family by faith alone is not a vague idea in the scriptures. Nor can it be said that faith alone ensures entrance since possession of faith merely puts one in a condition to be selected by God.

When you try and narrow “faith alone” down to a specific it centers on his life, death and resurrection with additions and variations allowing room for each one to place special significance upon certain aspects of who he is just as Peter indicated “To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone putting faith in him gets forgiveness of sins through his name”. Acts 10:42, 43
The scriptures show the heart* is where faith resides in other words it’s not just a studied up mental concept and in some instances a righteous standing before God is not recognized until the faith in something is followed by a specific action or work as in the case of A’bram** were as in other instances actions or deeds of faith are not a requirement as in the example of the thief who was executed along with King Yeshua. Although no works were asked of him nor did it seem possible he took the initiative in defence of yeshua and disclosed his heart when he said.“…[yeshua] remember me when you get into your kingdom.” Luke 24:43, Luke 7:41, 42 and 47
The Apostle Pauls conversion appears to be a stand alone incident where he was simply taken while in a condition of unbelief or he may have had a change of heart while in route to Damascus. 1Timothy 1:13, Acts 9:1-3
note: Romans 4:20 suggests A’brams faith absent works earned him a righteous standing before God or it could be construed to mean that he was strengthened or made powerful in his attempts to impregnate Sarah his wife. Romans 4:22
