The problem with Church officials who were pedophiles or who enabled pedophiles is that they WEREN'T tried in courts, but judged mildly by Church officials who kept those cases OUT of national courts of law in the countries in which they were committed.

And that was according to the directive of a Cardinal named Ratzinger....
