Again part of what was quoted makes sense...we do not live in a vacuum ..we learn about Christ from parents and yes Churches, but the,Holy Spirit can work through a piece of scripture smuggled into places where there are no churches .....we cannot limit His Power.<quoted text>
I agree. If we believe the Pope, then a personal relationship with Christ should be avoided. It is mind blowing for the head of the most powerful church on the planet to say " a personal relationship with Christ is dangerous". The Pope did not even give an explanation as why it would be dangerous but, many gulped it down like they were drinking water.
1 Timothy 4 : 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
We should all know who the above scriptures are referring to. It's plain and simple teaching.
Our relationship with Christ is indeed personal
