WHAT do you think falling away means,...?? Going into Sin, WORSHIPPING idols, denying Christ as Lord ??
Serious,question, Marge,
----------
"Falling away" is not a matter of stumbling into a temptation, and doing some foolish thing we shouldn't do. The BIble says that if we confess such to God, "He is faithful and just to forgive us, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (sinful behavior, NOT unbelief)".
Scripture says that "there is a sin unto death". That is the 'sin' of falling away from God, and denying His existence...unbelief
You're misquoting 1 John.

THE BIBLE SAYS..
1Co_15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Peter was flesh and blood and corruptible by virtue of the fact that he was not sired by the Holy Ghost..as JESUS WAS..
Yet you Roman Catholics claim that he A CORRUPTIBLE MAN ...inherited THE KINGDOM OF GOD on earth AND IS THE VICAR....OF JESUS
The incorruptible head of the Church is JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD....
Col 1:17 And he(JESUS) is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he(JESUS) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him(JESUS) should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him(JESUS) to reconcile all things unto himself; by him,
I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he0JESUS) reconciled
Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
NOTE
Col 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and
be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,
which ye have heard, and
which was preached to every creature which is under heaven;
whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Rom 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
"Yet you Roman Catholics claim that he A CORRUPTIBLE MAN ...inherited THE KINGDOM OF GOD on earth AND IS THE VICAR....OF JESUS"

By all means quote scripture. Leave your perverted personal opinions out of it. You have no authority. You do not speak for God. Sorry.

JESUS ...IS ALL.. not the clergy ...
According to common sense religious dogma, Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi ... not a Christian.

Why do you keep on trying to make his image over into your image???

WHY ... other than to placate your own emotional PLEASURE???

Judaism's view of Jesus

Judaism generally views Jesus as one of a number of false messiahs who have appeared throughout history.[1] Jesus is viewed as having been the most influential, and consequently the most damaging, of all false messiahs.

Your Catholic church fathers misquoted Jewish literature and added Jesus and the devil to their own spin of words. But that doesn't seem to bother you whatsoever.

General semanticists know it is hard to make the average person realize that he brings meaning to the word, that the word does not contain any meaning.
Nope again, June. Protestants are the ones who are bible alone and believe in private interpretation of scripture.

True, words have different meanings to different people, which is why the Church interprets scripture, not the individual, and she appeals to the apostles and what the Church has always taught, not to what someone dreamed up in their living room 2,000 years later.

They changed and change their stories ... AT WILL.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>

In the book "Signs and Symbols in Christian Art" ... there is a long story about St. Nicholas and all his achievements. It goes on and on and on, but at the start of the long convoluted story it states. "St. Nicholas of Myrna or Bari (fourth century) is regarded by historians as a purely legendary character who is supposed to have lived in the fourth century."

The men in the Vatican have now removed many of the supposed saints as nonexistent characters.

Why are you so convinced that you are right and they are wrong???

All of you interpret scriptures to your own "benefits." "I am saved and others are lost." I am pure of thought and others are NOT."

Both Protestants and Catholics make it all about your selves and your own supposed salvations.

You keep pointing fingers outward, rather than admitting that you can only change your own behavior ... and that starts with YOU.

There is "no salvation outside the Church."

OK, that has been officially changed, but the fundy catholics don't believe it.

Imagine going to mass every single week, only to be told "not required."

"June too can be saved."

It was theoretical..obviously you would want someone to go to a priest you trust ...I get that.
What if they did NOT like priests...what if the Churches were closed ...point was JESUS ...IS ALL.. not the clergy , not the RCC ...after they have Jesus,in their heart..He will guide them ...and may indeed decide to go to a,Church , if they still exist ....the way God is being put out of our lives , who knows ???? We have to have faith in Jesus to heal ...
"What if they did NOT like priests..."

I used to not like brussel sprouts. Then my mother many years ago made them roasted in the oven with olive oil. Now they're one of my favorite vegetables.

I'd tell then to get over it and if they sincerely wanted to become a Christian they'd come with me to meet my priest. If they refused, I'd say go take your chances with the Lutherans and then come back and see me when you realize your mistake.

They believe in the same Abrahamic invention of a god as do you.
If you don't see how you use your own religion to ingratiate your self as special ... that is YOUR problem.
June

Peace

And your off the mark. Religion is not to ingratiate oneself to God, or to think that I am special. That is the complete opposite if what religion is.....Hmmm its like you are aiming a bow and arrow backwards and expect the arrow to hit the target around the earth.

By the way, Holy Week is coming up for the RCC starting tomorrow, and I just picked up a book to read from a box in the shop, entitled the Mystical Poems of Rumi. Do you think its a bad idea?(smiles)

Your devotion to the thread is a part of your religion, whether you admit it or not.

Why are you not answering my question.....since you say Christ built His One True church, the Catholic church, who built these churches:
Ac 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Ac 15:41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
Ac 16:5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Ac 19:37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.
Ro 16:4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
Ro 16:16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.
1Co 7:17 But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
1Co 11:16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.{confusion: Gr. tumult, or, unquietness}
1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
1Co 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
2Co 8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2Co 8:18 And we
