That's why this thread is insane. This is not a debate about theology, its a clash between Catholics and incredibly ignorant ideologues. Look at you in your post above: Leviticus 17:11 "for the life of the flesh is the blood". That was used by you to apparently trash the fact that Catholics don't always receive the precious wine?
The reason why you weren't offered the Eucharist is because you don't believe the same things as the Apostles.
. Read 1corinthians 11: 17-34, especially "for anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgement upon themselves . That is why many of you are weak and ill and some have died"
The Priest was looking out for the health of the non-Catholics in attendance.
Fyi.... if I died, and on the day of my funeral my friend or family member got online to ridicule my faith, I would be disgusted. Of course, your warped mind thinks he's in hell anyway..

When the apostles were first introduced to the "Lord's Supper" the Bible tells us Jesus took the bread and then Jesus took the cup. Where can I find in Scripture a time when Jesus on anyone else celebrated the "Lord's Supper" with BREAD ONLY? Plus it is always done in REMEMBRANCE of Jesus.

But let's see what Jesus said about the "CUP".

Matthew 26:26-29, 26 "Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said,“Take, eat; this is my body.” 27 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying,“Drink of it, all of you, 28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

Luke 22:19-20, 19 "And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying,“This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood."

What did the apostle Paul have to say about the "Lord's Supper"?

I Corinthians 11:23-32, 23 "For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said,“This is my body which is for you. Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying,“This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 LET A PERSON EXAMINE HIMSELF, THEN, AND SO EAT OF THE BREAD AND DRINK OF THE CUP. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. 31 But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world."

Every human being dies. Apparently we all have eaten and drank the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner. JUST SAYIN'

So though I agree that LENT is a pagan observance,so is the observance of Easter. Therefore remove the mote from your own eyes before you try to remove it from the eyes of Catholics.
The PASSOVER is what Christains should be observing given that CHRIST BECAME OUR PASSOVER and the date it should be observed is already set by God as to how to set the correct date for the observance of the PASSOVER DAY. I guarantee you not one so called Christian here can show me in scripture how and where in the Bible God directed Israel on how to set the dat for the observance of the Passover.
Christians stole literature from other religions to create their own religion.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 <<<After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.>>>
18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
At the coming (parousia) of the Lord, the righteous, whether they were dead or alive, will be with the Lord forever.
This is eternal reward, not a 7-year rapture.
parousia....
the future visible return from heaven of Jesus, to raise the dead, hold the last judgment, and set up formally and gloriously the kingdom of God
The only reason you post scriptures is because you want to make it very plain to others that the supposed creator agrees with whatever you believe.

Muslims also have scriptures written by men.

Scriptures proves one issue ... and that is, that men wrote all scriptures in all religions.

Now the Catholic hierarchy has Xed about forty saints off their list, claiming that they probably weren't real people to begin with.

Why do suppose the Catholic church fathers changed the word ADONAI to Lord??? Could it be because they wanted followers to believe that the word Lord meant their newly designed Christian God ... NOT the Jewish God ADONAI???

My guess is, as have all other Catholics ... you will ignore this post.

The Jews that started the one-god dogma that branched off of polytheism had to deal with multiple names of gods.

I suggest that is why one scripture mentions Jehovah as being the creator and another scripture mentions ADONAI as being the creator ... and yet another scripture mentions Yahweh as being the creator.

The polytheist Jews had many titles for their varying imaginary gods.

Because of all the suffering that occurs on earth, theologians had to find a way to fit the negative into their theologies.

So they ended up stating that the gods created evil.

And then they were stupid enough to state that the gods love the humans that they chose to create ... knowing ahead of time that the humans were bound to a state of perpetual suffering.

Religion is ludicrous.

I suggest that there is no mystery to suffering. It occurs all through the animal kingdom and humans are mortal animals as are all other animals.

Suffering is nasty, but I suggest it is not a curse or a blessing from a creator, as that is the stuff of ancient folklore.

I've never gone to bed hungry a day in my life. I had loving parents that did everything they could to make my life as comfortable as possible.

But I don't believe that had anything to do with being blessed by a god.

I was simply more fortunate than most people on earth who died of starvation related diseases with no one to care.

Religion makes people even more arrogant than normal ... and THAT is going some, as humans are without question the most arrogant beasts on earth.

I suggest that one day, as did the dinosaurs, humans will become extinct, and other animals will keep on reproducing, which has always been nature's design.

We can certainly entertain the thoughts that we are special, but I suggest that if we are fair ... we should not believe that we "are" special.

Just maybe the universe always existed and never was created.

Because of our inability to know answers, it's anybody' guess. And guesses are based on opinion ... nothing more.
