Catholics rules are that priests are to be celibate and live holy lives and bishops are to turn over priests who break these rules with minors to the civil authorities. A very small percentage broke those rules. Yeah, that was wrong. Anything else Mike?

A non-Catholic Protestant who doesn't believe in all of what Jesus taught, and refuses to admit that this is true.

There are other traits that he has expressed in his posts, that clearly indicates or suggests that he isn't an honest so-called "Christian" - but then again, I haven't seen a whole lot of that type ("honest Christian") in quite sometime.

Did that help?

How did we get from your inability to demonstrate that I misquoted the Bible to this. Let's stick with the subject at hand. If I misquoted the Bible you should be able to provide evidence. You haven't so far. However, I'm not perfect and sometimes make mistakes. Please provide evidence so that I can correct my misquote if it exists. I take misquoting the Bible seriously, just as I take misunderstanding the message of the Bible seriously.

PBS’ 48th HIT ON CATHOLIC CHURCH

“Secrets of the Vatican” marks the 48th time PBS has addressed sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. Though this problem is practically non-existent in the Catholic community these days, and is rampant in the public schools, as well as in the Orthodox Jewish community, PBS has devoted a combined total of ZERO episodes on both.
All the contrived melodrama is there: ominous dark images; dramatic music; a deep voice-over; bleak hallways; shadowy figures locking doors as a boy enters the room; the words “Power,”“Money,” and “Sex” flashing about, etc. The predictable villain: Pope Benedict XVI. Ironically, he did more than anyone to check this problem, but facts don’t matter when Jason Berry is involved.
A dissident Catholic, Berry is a co-producer of this show; he was also featured in Alex Gibney’s film,“Mea Maxima Culpa.”***Indeed, tonight’s hit job is nothing more than a retread of Gibney’s propaganda: a New Orleans reporter who previewed it says,“this film reminded me of ‘Mea Maxima Culpa.’” These guys can’t go to the sewer too often.***

....there were forms of character rules long before the Jews arrived.
..john 3:12.....not as Cain the wicked and slew his brother Abel. His own works were evil and his brother righteous, so there were rules/regulations long before the Jews.

Common sense to a relativist atheist is whatever they say it is. There exists no moral ethical basis for common sense, conscience or any act of positive actions towards another human being. All we are according to the atheist is a smarter animal. As such, your creed should be survival of the fittest. I take what I want, when I want as long as I'm smarter and stronger than the next guy, and I can use any means to do it. That is your creed no?

Hey Mike, what set of "rules" does an atheist such as yourself utilize when attempting to determine the morality of an action you might take?

The Catholics knew all about spreading scandal, as they continually scandalized the Jews and all others as evil heretics, simply because others refused to become Catholic.

....Is there a bar or threshold standard as to how many break the rules makes it OK? A small percentage he says.....(lol)

...Look at the BIG picture......Do a little research and you will find that bad priests have been caught in the vast majority of catholic dioceses right across america, including the very dioceses that all the catholic posters on this forum belong to including your own..The same systematic coverups and crimes have gone on in every country that catholic clergy are located. That means the vast majority of bishops who ran these dioceses lied, deceived and covered up these crimes, often for many years for the shameful priests..........and NOW! The Vatican has put these bishops in charge of blowing the whistle on bad clergy, the same bad clergy these same bishops covered up for in the first place!.......and catholics boast....look what good our church is doing now!

.....and you have the nerve to talk about atheists?

Why NOT??? The Jews were at one time polytheists. So that means that the Jews lied when they believed in many gods ... or they lied when they only believe in one god.

At any rate, religion was all created out of flamboyant fantasy.

Myths and Myth-Makers – Old Tales And Superstitions By Comparative Mythology … John Fiske

According to the ancient Jew, the sky was a solid plate, hammered out by the gods, and spread over the earth in order to keep up the ocean overhead: but the plate was full of little windows, which were opened whenever it became necessary to let the rain come through.

The word theology means to study religion ... not to claim to know truth.

Such "education" is based on mythology. All religions taught it as truth.

A system that includes suffering does not live up to anything divine.
As I understand it, you are saying, like my dog, after you die....end of story...you have no soul nor spirit.....same as my dog....is that right???

From your link:
Notes
(1) Some of these atrocities were mostly caused by man-made (or preventable) famine, e.g., the death toll for Mao Zedong and British India. "

- "famine" = "God's" fault?-- for not providing enough water to make the plants grow, in order for people to eat and not become starved.

This isn't a man-made reason.

Your article lacks facts.
