All gods except mine, but thank you for asking.

Read your words again. What I posted was true. You'd be embarrassed to show those words to anyone who you respect. Something is troubling you.

Theology? Your post had little to do with theology. For example, hate the sin, not the sinner, right? And where does your theology teach you to dictate the terms of salvation to others?

Your post sounded right from the Westboro Baptist Church. You were attacking a funeral.

You know that no one would mistake that as loving instruction or "theology."

Read them again. Those were the words of a troubled person.

If the Catholic church-fathers had hung the title LOVE on the new savior, rather than the personalized title Jesus,(previously known as Ihcuc in the language of the Greeks)... they could not have convinced anyone that Jesus existed to favor only Catholics.

That word LOVE can't be personally owned as a title, and I suggest that that is why those theologians never used the title LOVE for their individual saviors that they in turn man-u-fractured in their individual cults.

If love exists anywhere in the universe, it should not divide any animals into right-fighting groups ... it should be calm and whole and at total peace in it's "affects."

With what we have been taught ... something is very wrong.

Sorry to hear that.

But at least he is not plagiarizing for a false god. That's refreshing.

At least he is not attacking someone's funeral for a false god. That's refreshing.

My God respects even those who do not believe in him because they harbor hate.

Keep in mind that Catholics and Protestants killed each other as heretics in the haughty claim that the ONE-god supported both sides of the religious wars at the same time.
Religious insanity ruled and it still rules supreme.
Religious insanity here?

OK, maybe a little.

If the Jews that strayed from polytheism had hung the title of LOVE on their new religion, rather than Elohim ... I suggest they would not have written in their newly-divised literature that Elohim chose the Jews as his favorities.

Imagine writing ... "The Jews are LOVES chosen few."

That would be an oxymoronic statement ... at war within it's self.

A very harsh assessment of others, based on your personal beliefs.

The Primacy Effect is almost certainly in play here.

The choice of words suggest a troubled poster. Seriously dude, you would never want to see yourself as others do. A pessimistic Narcissist wandering aimlessly through life must be truly problematic for you.

Well I have a different opinion on the poster "truth" than do you, but I will keep it to myself.

And as for love ... I don't believe that humans are capable of comprehending that word other than through tunnel vision, which in turn is based on nothing other than self-centered perceptions.

I suggest that we would be more in tune with our own feelings if we didn't pretend to love our neighbors as our selves ... as that is totally silly.

Self is concerned with survival, and I recognize that it is the nature of all animals ... of which I am one.

If you come to harm my family or me ... be prepared to die. That is my nature.

Religion takes the survival of self to the "extreme" in the attitude, "I am more precious to God than any other animals in the universe ... even other humans."

How can Ramen be of the character of divine love, when all animals, including humans were created to suffer???

Is Ramen willing to take responsibility for that horrible behavior??? If not, Ramen is not being honest with self, or with you.

Yup keep voting for liberals...pay for others birth control..promote abortion..no.restrictions,and dem o nice conservatives and tea,party...as I've seen on here..who are pro life and PRO JOB..
Some folks, need help ..that's,a,fact..but it was not supposed to be a,way of life..for generations....out of wedlock kids, all over or get an abortion..
And by all means, blame it on the,Protestants..That helps..
Just so much tax money can do till the system breaks..which for some unknown reason was a,plan of the sixties bringing fruit today...read those folks I mentioned ....this has been their goal..socialism..for decades.....doesn't work...but we go further and further...with each proclamation..
Private business is being stifled by nonsense legislation..
Fact is,the more,people getting assistance...the,more voters,to keep it going...
Something like one in five on food stamps????
I know, folks, who need it for physical reasons.
Babies, getting disability Payments ...supposed to be a replacement for WAGES..
There SHOUlD be programs,to help children ...ALWAYS..but not to pay m o m and dad cause,Junior is,ADD...that's,just crazy..And then blame old people because,SS going broke..no wonder...
Disability was meant for folks, who could not work who paid into the system...to replace wages....not give an income to families, with kids,on meds...they may or may not need.
You need to do real research before you say few, people are,on assistance ...it's,wrong
A,temporary help..GREAT ..we are for this ..but not as,a way of life...
Only the tip of the ice berg ...
Once again, Rose, you've misread what I posted. Please show me where I said there are few people on assistance. I'd appreciate it. Oh, and also where I said I voted for liberals and am not "pro job". I look forward to your reply.

So are you suggesting that artificial birth control is the solution, preventing and getting rid of all those pesky undesirable babies that the poor are certain to produce because everyone knows how low their standards of morality are? Have you ever heard of Margaret Sanger?

One of the main reasons for the breakdown of social security is the simple fact that there are fewer people, thereby fewer workers paying into it. All thanks to birth control and it's daughter, legalized abortion (no pun intended, but interesting nonetheless).

I think we're all aware that the system is in trouble, Rose, but that isn't the topic we've been discussing. For the most part, Protestant moral teaching has switched gears and artificial birth control has become accepted and even recommended. Why you yourself have stated many times on this forum that "they're going to have sex before marriage anyway, so it's better to give them birth control pills than to have an abortion"...(or) let us trade one evil for another and at the same time send the message that fornication/adultery really isn't that big of a deal. You might not think that's what you're saying, but it is.

I'm sure there are a few Protestant groups that forbid birth control; I think Marge said her group does. But, generally, they've caved. So I believe, although I could be mistaken, that the original point was that the Catholic Church stands alone in her steadfast teaching against artificial birth control, chastity within and without marriage, and cooperation with God's plan for life. That's it. No more, no less. The decline of social mores happened because it was allowed to happen. The Church became the lone voice in the wilderness. Now everybody wants to sing kumbaya together....it's all good and truth is relative. Umm, not so fast....

I suggest that if I were to claim that I know the meaning of love and apply that love to others ... to be fair, I would have to claim that they also know the meaning of love and apply it to me.

I have no such "intention."

My husband is dear to me ... up to a point!

However, if I felt betrayed by him again and again and yet again with no remorse on his part ... my focus would be totally on me and what I could do get rid of him ... one way or the other.

So why would I pretend to know the meaning of love ... when the word "conditional" makes more sense?

Catholics and Protestants "loved" each other to death, fighting over owning the emotions of the supposed god that once "loved" only the Jews.

Religion ... in a nutshell.

If the titles attached by men to all those supposed gods was LOVE ... would any humans in their right mind have picked up a sword or a gun to harm others???

Ask your selves that question ... if you DARE!
