Actually it is the prunes that I eat daily that "move" me.

Religion takes the survival of self to the "extreme" in the attitude, "I am more precious to God than any other animals in the universe ... even other humans."

Ridiculous nonsense!

OK, maybe a little.
You refuse to answer my question.

How can Ramen be of the character of divine love, when all animals, including humans were created to suffer???

Is Ramen willing to take responsibility for that horrible behavior??? If not, Ramen is not being honest with self, or with you.

tongue in cheek

Read your words again. What I posted was true. You'd be embarrassed to show those words to anyone who you respect. Something is troubling you.
Theology? Your post had little to do with theology. For example, hate the sin, not the sinner, right? And where does your theology teach you to dictate the terms of salvation to others?
Your post sounded right from the Westboro Baptist Church. You were attacking a funeral.
You know that no one would mistake that as loving instruction or "theology."
Read them again. Those were the words of a troubled person.
Ramen
Shove it. ;-) is that nicer? Your goal is only to pesterize us. Attacking a funeral? Ya right. I'm attacking the protestant OSAS mindset. Not any particular funeral.
Again, what do you care?

Once again, Rose, you've misread what I posted. Please show me where I said there are few people on assistance. I'd appreciate it. Oh, and also where I said I voted for liberals and am not "pro job". I look forward to your reply.

So are you suggesting that artificial birth control is the solution, preventing and getting rid of all those pesky undesirable babies that the poor are certain to produce because everyone knows how low their standards of morality are? Have you ever heard of Margaret Sanger?

One of the main reasons for the breakdown of social security is the simple fact that there are fewer people, thereby fewer workers paying into it. All thanks to birth control and it's daughter, legalized abortion (no pun intended, but interesting nonetheless).

I think we're all aware that the system is in trouble, Rose, but that isn't the topic we've been discussing. For the most part, Protestant moral teaching has switched gears and artificial birth control has become accepted and even recommended. Why you yourself have stated many times on this forum that "they're going to have sex before marriage anyway, so it's better to give them birth control pills than to have an abortion"...(or) let us trade one evil for another and at the same time send the message that fornication/adultery really isn't that big of a deal. You might not think that's what you're saying, but it is.

I'm sure there are a few Protestant groups that forbid birth control; I think Marge said her group does. But, generally, they've caved. So I believe, although I could be mistaken, that the original point was that the Catholic Church stands alone in her steadfast teaching against artificial birth control, chastity within and without marriage, and cooperation with God's plan for life. That's it. No more, no less. The decline of social mores happened because it was allowed to happen. The Church became the lone voice in the wilderness. Now everybody wants to sing kumbaya together....it's all good and truth is relative. Umm, not so fast....

I suggest that if I were to claim that I know the meaning of love and apply that love to others ... to be fair, I would have to claim that they also know the meaning of love and apply it to me.

I have no such "intention."

My husband is dear to me ... up to a point!

However, if I felt betrayed by him again and again and yet again with no remorse on his part ... my focus would be totally on me and what I could do get rid of him ... one way or the other.

So why would I pretend to know the meaning of love ... when the word "conditional" makes more sense?

Catholics and Protestants "loved" each other to death, fighting over owning the emotions of the supposed god that once "loved" only the Jews.

Religion ... in a nutshell.

If the titles attached by men to all those supposed gods was LOVE ... would any humans in their right mind have picked up a sword or a gun to harm others???

Ask your selves that question ... if you DARE!

My first child was born out of wedlock. A HUGE SIN to church-goers back when I was young.

Not so anymore!

The more the theologians preach about the sin of babies being born out of wedlock, the more babies are born out of wedlock.

Theologians have lost control over the God that they used to threaten others with in ancient times.

I find that revealing AND enlightening.
yes really

Tell me rose, if someone is from a family that for generations never went past high school for education, had three generations of children born to single mothers , have substance abuse in every generation , How can you tell these people to get a good paying job when they have no idea how to find a decent job ? What about the rural areas where there aren't decent paying jobs around? Are you going to tell these people they can't have food stamps to feed their children or the older couple to not get food stamps? You want those people to eat dog food? We live in a Country that the food supplies are plenty , so plenty that we can feed the world three times over and still have enough. You want to take food stamps away from people who can't get good jobs and don't have enough income to eat a balanced diet to starve? You want to stop WIC ? where babies can get formula and food that will keep them healthy, you want these children to die from malnourishment? That is what will happen, rose. Really rose, is that what a Christian would do,take away from the poor? You would want more homeless people, more violence wtc. Rose, this is not what a Christian would do.

The issue should not BE who has a piece of paper that states they are married to another human before they can have a baby.

The issue should be if the baby is going to feel accepted as being as special as any other baby on the "face" of the earth.

Religion didn't take that issue into consideration. It was too busy dictating what god found appealing and what god found offensive.

Preachers of religion were and are, trouble-making liars.

It is difficult enough for humans to accept differences in others, without religion sticking its horns into others with artificial claims that gods will punish if humans don't obey the gods.

I believe that the best I can do with what's left of my life is to try in spite of my selfish nature to be kind to my neighbors and keep right-fighting religious debris out of my pathway.

If I can't be relatively kind without religion ... there is something very wrong with me.

.Parker needs your prayers!
ATTENTION PRAYER WARRIORS!!!
This is Parker. He is 3 years old and fighting for his life. His parents took him sledding yesterday and... as he was getting off his sled a teenager came from behind and they collided. Parker has a brain bleed, and many other serious life threatening issues. In the height of yesterday's storm they put him in a state of unconsciousness in order to transport him to a bigger hospital (he couldn't be air lifted bc of the snow.) He is moaning in pain and in very critical condition. This is all I know for now. PLEASE PLEASE pray for Parker and his family. Prayers work!!!! and the family is requesting as many as possible.....

Telev-angel-ists (note the word ANGEL in that word) need the word SIN in their vocabularies in order to keep the money coming in to their bank accounts.

Without that word sin that they throw at others, they would have nothing of "importance" whatsoever to say.

Have you ever wondered why, if a god exists and believes that you are special ... why the god doesn't call you home and be done with you???

Maybe he's sitting up in the sky laughing at your antics.
