Let me start by acknowledging that Catholics AND Protestants use artificial birth control, although Catholics at slightly lower levels. One of the greatest harms to the break down of society in Western culture is the pervasive use of artificial birth control, and it's more sinister companion abortion. Culturally it started with the protestant communities in the 1930's and has now become the norm in contemporary protestantism. Free sexual gratification without consequence became culturally acceptable along with BC pills in the 1960's and was embraced by protestants. Now many protestant communities are accepting abortion as a women's/equal right issue.
Only the Catholic Church has remained steadfast in her opposition to this anti-life culture.
Sexual revolution was NOT started by any religious,...it's,all part of the secular if it feels, good movement .....

And let's,not forget Catholics, for choice and that large percentage of Catholics who voted liberal
A,smaller percentage of PROTS.
The Evangelical movement is,definitely pro life...get married.....
Blame them for Catholic sin...
Right....really nice ..
I lived through all this, mess and we were so foolish to see these, people as,the fringe
Now,they teach our children
And infest the college's...again nit religious..
Kicked God out of the schools....

Blaming the Protestants, for the breakdown in the,US is,still nonsense.
The excuse,was,EMPOWER WOMEN..not a,religious,idea,
In that context ....And you know,it
Do I think BC if used correctly would PREVENT most abortions...You bet ...

But the Protestants, which o approve are not saying indiscriminate ,sex is,a,good thing ...in any way shape or form.....

Did you look up the sixties...plan by Cloward st all Ayers...make uncle daddy ...And that's,what they've Done!!!!

Has,no place for God in it..pure socialism and bring down capitalism

Do you think at judgement God is,going to say I forgive you CATHOLUCS,who voted for abortion candidates....the Protestants, said BC was,ok ..so you get a,pass on promoting murder????

Get real...Catholics get abortions...use BC because,THEY WANT TO....nothing to do with Protestants ...And if we,Christians,WOUKD have gone to the polls, for conservatives ...we would not be in this, mess,

Pointing fingers,is,ugly ...

The,BC pill came into use in the sixties...there was,no reason for the proliferation of abortion OR out of wedlock babies,...but again government policy promoted NO DADDY AT HOME...And abortion as,BC ..

You are saying you never once in your entire life had sex with anyone accept your wife?

The church might be steadfast, but the vast majority of roman catholics have used or do use forms of birth control that the church says is sinful. I remember the 60s/70s and priests telling guilty catholics to use their own conscience. Its obvious many church leaders are out of touch with their own church.

....Many roman Catholics don't care what the church states.

Life goes on, and times are exciting!

While I agree your basic premise here that one culture gave rise to the next culture is sound, I think my point is more to the origin of of today's culture as it relates to science, economic and political foundations, human rights, the educational system (universities), etc.
Its obvious you have the chicken little syndrome. Enjoy life and what it has to offer. Quit worrying so much.

No way Jose....

Scripture teaches that if a born again child of God accidently comes into contact with a viper, and is bitten, that person will not be harmed:

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

I've thought about it for many, many years and have come to the conclusion that God judges everyone on their "awareness, and on their charity (love) for those around them.
So, that means your church fathers are in hell for what they committed against the Jews and those in all other religions, and against Atheists and Agnositics ... RIGHT???

You can' t have it both ways hojo.

Pope John Paul II apologized to the Jews and others he admitted were harmed by those in his own religion.

Instead you keep your focus on the idea that the church fathers lived sublime lives of purity, and are now in heaven reaping the rewards of sainthood.

While you choose to stay stunted, you can't grow in any other direction whatsoever.
