This is not a forum about teachers.
So you are defending these men of your church? Is that what you are saying?
I am giving the findings of The United Nations.
The roman catholic church is not the one true church.
What you need to do is get involved in your school district in Ontario. Its a mess up there. What's the "college of teachers"?? A union group who covers for their brothers?? that's what it sounds like.

The Catholic Church doesn't claim to be the true Church because they are without sin... Can you imagine if the Apostles went around and said: "hey everybody, follow us, we're sinless"

..........The Vatican "systematically" adopted policies that allowed priests to rape and molest tens of thousands of children over decades, a UN human rights committee said Wednesday, urging the Holy See to open its files on pedophiles and bishops who concealed their crimes.
In a devastating report hailed by abuse victims, the UN committee severely criticized the Holy See for its attitudes toward homosexuality, contraception and abortion and said it should change its own canon law to ensure children's rights and their access to health care are guaranteed.
The Vatican promptly objected and its UN ambassador accused the committee of having betrayed the international body's own objectives by allowing itself to be swayed by pro-gay ideologues. He said it appeared the committee simply hadn't listened when the Holy See outlined all the measures it has taken to protect children.
How Pope Francis is reshaping the Vatican
Pope Francis calls abortion 'horrific'
The report, which took the Vatican by surprise in its harsh tone, puts renewed pressure on Pope Francis to move decisively on the abuse front and make good on pledges to create a Vatican commission to study sex abuse and recommend best practices to fight it. The commission was announced in December, but few details have been released since then.
The committee issued its recommendations after subjecting the Holy See to a daylong interrogation last month on its implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the key UN treaty on child protection, which the Holy See ratified in 1990.
Critically, the committee rejected the Vatican's longstanding argument that it doesn't control bishops or their abusive priests, saying the Holy See was responsible for implementing the treaty not just in the Vatican City State but around the world "as the supreme power of the Catholic Church through individuals and institutions placed under its authority."
'Code of silence'
In its report, the committee blasted the "code of silence" that has long been used to keep victims quiet, saying the Holy See had "systematically placed preservation of the reputation of the church and the alleged offender over the protection of child victims." It called on the Holy See to provide compensation to victims and hold accountable not just the abusers, but also those who covered up their crimes.

The church is against the ropes, and its at the tipping point.
What will catholics NOW think of their beloved leaders?
Last one out of church, blow out the candles.
They look for excuses ..the UN... to have authority...period...And some Americans, think it would be terrific to let them have it here .....in churches or any other part of our freedom..

Big government folks, love them....be careful what you wish for...

<quoted text>Archbishop Tomasi responded that the analysis first “in some ways is not up to date” because it does not take “into account some of the clear and precise explanations that were given to the committee in the encounter that the delegation of the Holy See had with the committee three or four weeks ago.”
The archbishop also pointed out an apparent “difficulty” in the committee understanding “the position of the Holy See,” which cannot compromise teachings which are “part of their deep convictions and also an expression of freedom of religion.
Covering for pedophile felons is not part of that defense, but an excuse not to be held accountable as an abettor.

Wow Mike. You got some real problems up there in your school district. Maybe you should be more concerned about your neighborhood. Here are a few eye opening stories. I think the UN ought to investigate your community!
- A teacher disciplined students by warning them that they would have to spend time with a pedophile and it would be "without vaseline"
- A drunk teacher sexually assaulted a store clerk.
- A teacher repeatedly took photos of 8th grade girls with his cell phone
- a teacher who's female students said he called them "sluts", "pole dancers" whores", and i can't repeat the next line.
thestar.com/news/canada/2011/09/29_bad_teache...
The identity of the teachers is kept secret by the teachers union. Sounds like you got a cover-up going on up there.
"More and more we found, problem teachers are shielded from the public"
of the 49 cases in 2010, 35 didn't identify the teacher.
of the 43 cases in 2009, 20 didn't identify the teacher
This is an outrage. I wouldn't want my son attending a school in your area, Michael. You have guilty teachers in the classroom that are protected and/or shufflled around by the 'college of teachers' or "teachers union".
Unbelievable!!
Liam says...This is an outrage!! "I wouldn't want my son attending a school in your area"

Michael says.......If this is how you really feel, why do YOU attend your church when just a few months ago the world learned about the sexual abuses in your own parish, in your own diocese.

The church leaders should be held to a higher standard. They teach morality/justice, for years they didn't practice what they preached and now they are being bitten in the behind.
...Who are they going to blame now?
Why satan of course. They are organizing a posse as we speak...problem is that the "posse" IS the offenders.

Have you ever thought youy may have OCD? You are sooooo infatuated with the topic od sex abuse. Do you have a job? do you constantly think of children in sexual stories and you feel so ashamed that you have to come on a forum and put your mania on the threads? The doctors in your town have a special kind of medicine for you, and maybe castration will help you get rid of your ugly shameful thoughts. And I hope to God your not using a public computer, if you do make sure you get enough anti bacterial wipes to wipe down the computer key board.

That's not what I am doing, I am well aware there were bad priests, but you and Mikey have a sick fantasy about the subject. You better start complaining about the teachers who have affairs with young students in the public schools and the teachers who read and look at porn at the local public grade school, these stories are all over the internet. And read about how the teacher who has been charged with raping a student and demands back pay....and the school board is in favor of giving back pay to him.

Wrong! I watched CNN, ABC, this morning and this story was the headline.

The difference between you and me is that I don't associate with criminals. I don't make excuses for criminals, Liars, deceivers and coverup artists. People that should be held to a higher standard. The stories I report are about adults (not children) who have lived a LONG life of horror and agony. They are the victims, and you spend all day long looking for stories defending your church leaders, who have made complete fools of you and the followers. The ones who you paid their salaries and benefits for.

If you and oter catholics cared maybe you would write a letter to your bishops telling him that a lot of unacceptable things have gone on, BUT you won't, but you will post letters to me..........because that is the easy way out.

For once look at the big picture.

You can insult me all you want. Your known for that on this forum. You are not fooling anyone.

You and other devout Catholics have always been part of the problem. Your silence is deafening.
