I don't oppose your image of a god. I simply don't believe in a creator ... period.
I'm more inclined to trust in the "theory" that the universe didn't have a beginning, but rather always existed and always will exist ... probably long after humans become extinct.
Please make special note of the word "THEORY" for your future "reference."
do what ya gotta do with your theory, June, but it does beg to question why you're here day in and day out to oppose/bully others over their beliefs/theories.

insecure in your theory maybe?;-)

I suggest that you believe I am not a bottomless pit of nothing, but rather a full pit of the devil's evil ... which suits your arrogant religious mentality to a T.
And of course you are finished discussing abortion, because you are satisfied to believe that women who have abortions are evil and you are holy.
Such religious attitudes are common.
You got the first sentance of you post correct. I am farrrrr from being holy and I will NEVER come close to it.

The only thing I would disagree with is your term "sucker punch."
Unlike a true sucker punch, you can always see it coming on a message forum. It is your choice to read it and feel indignant, or sucker punched. That term does suit you as well as those shorts :o)
Besides, it's called faith.
Consider, if a new Priest were required to understand and explain every word in the Bible, there'd be no Priests.
Except for born-age Protestant Priests that is. They have no questions, only answers.
And compared to the average Priest, almost no education either.
If they had faith that the bible gave a clear message to all that read it, they would have no LUST to go about re-writing, and explaining it's supposed meanings to others. That re-writing and the need to foist ones own interpretations off on others, is tampering with what they refer to as "The HOLY WORD."

Double-dealers!

Delusions require that you ignore the other verses, including verse in the same book.
They simply lust to tamper with the scriptures that they find pleasing to their emotional needs.

That scripture about Jehovah creating good AND EVIL baffles them, and some of them claim that evil doesn't even mean evil when in that context.

How funny.

Yet when they refer to me as being evil ... they fully comprehend what the word means in THAT context.

Your PRIDE in the idea that your grandson will be indoctrinated in a Christian-school bespeaks of a woman who is certain that Christianity "of your brand" is very special, and is most certainly aligned to the composition of God.

I have concepts, and I comprehend that my concepts are change-able.

For instance ... when I was under the spell of religion, my concept was that what I believed was suitable for me.

Since I left religion, my concept is that religion is no longer suitable for me, but is still suitable to most of the world's population.

So I understand that what SEEMS right to some, seems wrong to others.

As an example ... it seemed right for Christians to kill each other as being offenders of the "sensitivities" of the same supposed god ... but to me that mindset was and is totally ludicrous.

I noticed you are very particular about who receives your "love." You learned that from your religious training.

Those that your supposed-god doesn't love gets the fiery end of his stick, as he rejects them to eternal hell.

Religion was created by the arrogance of humans ... and that is why there is no hope to improve religion.

Then you don't believe that Jesus' death on the cross took away your sin.

You can't have it both ways and still be true to your own conscience.

And by the way ... I don't pretend to love you or others on a forum, and that way there are no surprises when I disagree with opinions.

Once you buddy up to others on a forum, they expect you to be "nice" to them forever ... as in "ownership."

I don't go there.

When I was agreeing with one woman, she started referring to me as "friend." But when I started disagreeing with her opinions, she referred to me as "mentally ill."

As noted on threads of forums ... those who post scriptures from the bible, always choose the ones they want others to read.

The intent of the posters, was and is ... "See how right I am, and how you are treading on dangerous territory by not seeing it my way? After all, I am of the mindset of the creator. Let me show you the way, as I am a qualified LEADER."

A right-fighter in religion is always certain that he/she is qualified to preach the one and only truth in the universe.

And no matter which religion ... that IS religion in a nutshell.

As much as the fundie would love to believe that this verse applies to the 66 books that Luther installed, that is not the case. For one, not even half the NT was written yet. So if you take Pauls words in a literal sense, then why were more letters written?
There was a dispute in Corinth. Factions were beginning to form, pitting Christians against each other. Pride was the reason for Paul to reference the OT teachings on pride. Hence the purpose of Paul's letter and words: "do not go beyond what is written, then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over the other".
Later Paul commands the Corinthians to hold steadfast to the sacred traditions given by "word of mouth AND letter.
Sola scripture fails when attempting to isolate that one line "do not go beyond what is written".
Put that line back into the Bible, CIB. Don't read it separate and apply it to modern bible only movement.
Liam ...please,NO ONE thinks, that verse, applied AT THAT TIME to 66 books, that were NOT completely written AT THAT TIME ...however....since we look to scripture TODAY for our
Beliefs,...And all 66 books,ARS NOW,and have been declared by the Council of the EARLY CHURCH which included AT THAT time ..But was not only the Roman Church ...but that CHURCH was part of the Council of the Churche ....so I assume you believe it also

we take it as,it was written to apply to INSPIRED SCRIPTURE ..That we hAve today

Just as the Jews, looked on th e or scriptures that were not all written in one day ..
