Jesus was talking to those hypocrites BACK THEN, NOT TO ROS.
you are just plain ignorant when it comes to knowing that this Scripture was literal, not figurative
A hypocrite 6000 years ago, 2000 years ago, today, tomorrow, 6000 years in the future is still a hypocrite. This particular Scripture in my Bible is literal and applies to all ages....get a refund on your version..it is defective...

If it's not about religion, why are you here???

Don't worry, I've been called all those names before and many more by both Protestants and Catholics and modern Pagans.

I'm used to it, and it doesn't offend me at all.

It is your right to hang labels on me, as I in turn have the right to hang labels on you.

From the book,“A History of Christianity,” edited by Clyde L. Manschreck,(volume 2) comes the following…

In one of our American communities, a congregation called itself The Church of God. They could not agree among themselves and having split asunder, the split called itself, The True Church of God. They, in turn divided and the new group called itself The Only True Church of God.

"The cave of the Vatican belonged to Mithra until 376 A.D., when a city prefect suppressed the cult of the rival Savior and seized the shrine in the name of Christ, on the very birthday of the pagan god, December 25."

When it takes from the 1st century, until the 19th century for men of the church to come to a conclusion on just one issue ... it ought to be very plain that there was no creator feeding information to those men.

From the book,“History of Christianity,” by Clyde L. Manschreck … comes the following ……..

On his own authority, in 1854, Pius proclaimed the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed virgin, a dogma long desired by Mariologists, but hardly favored by liberals.

women have hyserectomies ..is that a sin also ??
Now I see why you left the Church. Why don't you be for abstinence? That is what a mother would do. The pill causes abortions rose. Scientists and doctors agree that it does. I really think you get your ideas from the secular media, and from those pro abort so called women who filled your head full of evil .Many Catholic women who used birth control have come back to the Church and repented, if you don't repent, rose remember what Our Lady of Fatima told the three little children, that many souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh. Maybe you need to talk to a priest, my church is all about forgiveness and we won't bite. catholicscomehome.org

You're being exposed as a bigoted fascist. I don't like anyone (religious or not) who strives to mock human beings all day. what a loser! Are you that naive to think we all can't see into you pathetic soul? You're broken and beaten down. and like a real loser, you wish to have everyone else join in your misery. You know it and I know it.
:-)
Wow! Liam writes about another of God's children: "bigoted fascist loser, broken, beaten, pathetic soul, loser."

No holding back there.

Now pretend you really believe in Jesus. Tell us like you really believe Jesus is watching you and judging you.

Try again. Jesus says you should apologize. Jesus loves June too, right?

sorry man, you guys showed up a little late in the game. The title 'Church of Christ' is already taken. Its the Catholic Church. Catholic is word that means 'Universal', its describing the Church of Christ. For centuries the one universal Church was simply known as the Church of Christ.
I don't doubt your sincere zeal for the Lord, but it is common knowledge that your new church of christ is a cult in every sense of the word. Very very ignorant when it comes to basic truths.

This is what one of the students of the Apostle John wrote about the Church of Christ in 100 AD
"Wherever the Bishop appears, there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not lawful to Baptize or give Communion without the consent of the Bishop, therefore whatever has his approval will be pleasing to God, thus will be safe and valid"

I agree, we do not need a church. Church is the commercialisation of religion. Jesus said: call no one a rabbi/teacher. That rules out all of the priest caste, both catholic and protestant.

But church is a huge money maker, we are talking trillions here worldwide. The RCC is the Coca Cola of Christianity, the original. Protestantism is more like Pepsi Cola and other brands that want to cash in on the success of the RCC. Of course the RCC tried to eliminate them, but failed. So now we have many shops selling the same product with minor differences. Heaven is somewhat cheaper in Protestantism.

Like most products its attraction is based on beliefs people hold about them and that are constantly reinforced by promotional means. Churches are very effective by inviting people to self-indoctrinate themselves by saying carefully crafted prayers. It is a good business they earn handsomely.

Of course these businessmen are fairly ruthless both to their believers as among themselves. That is why there is a constant power struggle in the Vatican as it concerns enormous amounts of money. in the church the commercial aspect is carefully hidden by flowered words. P.e. the church bank is called "the institute of religious works". And there salesmen are called missionaries, etc.

In their methods they look a lot like the Mafia, which with they have a close association. They even go back to the same families. Some people will call it fraud, others will call it honest business, and ignorants will call it religion and the works of God.

A little look into history should be enough to wake an ethical person up. But then again Christianity has little to do with ethics. It was created by the Roman emperor to serve as the Roman state ideology, not to lead people to God, but to create stability in the slave empire. Popes and emperors have shown the same ruthlessness through the ages.

Is protestantism different? Depending on the leader some churches are more ethical, but many are as commercial as the RCC. But I do not see that as a problem. It is a free market. If people want to believe these things that is their business. if they think that giving money to churches buys them a seat in a better world here after, let them.

But one thing is for sure RCC will always be the original like Coca Cola. And Coca Cola is also a drink with a lot of sugar that does nothing good to you. But people learn to love it. Feed it the kids and they are hooked for the rest of their lives. Same with Christianity.

So for Christ sakes, give the priests altar boys and money. Have a little compassion.

Pistis Sophia: A Coptic Gnostic Text with Commentary

The Coptic Gnostic narrative theme which attempts to explain the dilemma of humanity's predicament as a realm of intelligence amidst many realms of Life, both visible and invisible. It also emphasizes the role of female disciples in the ministry of Jesus the Christ. The later chapters contain much information concerning the soul and its origin: exploring how the soul comes to birth through the Virgin of Light and departs from earth-life. The text also explains how the soul works within the Light-power and the spiritual elements in humanity, all being connected with the strivings of Wisdom/Sophia.

If I had bad-mouthed the Muslims, I am sure that not one Christian on the forum would be offended.

That's the way religion works with its never ending deceit.
