Some of this stuff I am reading is just plain ridiculous and insane thinking!
maybe you can offer an alternative scenario on our existence? Was it an alien lifeform that planted DNA on this planet and they'll be returning again someday to gather their data??
Face it Black dude, you guys offer equally bizarre scenarios on the origin of human beings. In fact, you guys basically deny the spirit and love as we believers understand it. To me, thats you failure.

<quoted text> Perhaps an error but not prejudice. I can stiff that kind of stuff out in anything I read and quickly toss it out. I read diversified material from different sources-some theological, some historical etc. This did not just appear overnight but started with the advent od scholasticism- with the Cappadicians going the more mystical way and the westerns discovering Plato and Aristotle and trying to use philosophy to explain theology. The Greeks went with the apophatic way of thinking. I have never heard any of the western theologians write about this concept. Mysticism, theosis, and deification never really captivated the west as it did in the east, although they did also have their mystics. My position regarding the east as a hospital goes back to the west adopting Aquinas' version of sin (Original Sin)and sin as a violation verses the East going with sin as a separation from God (Ancestral Sin)- not stressed as much by the West. As a result you have the west using the concept of penances, temporal punishments, indulgences etc. with confession. The east used the Priest helping to advise the person spiritually for God to heal them.I do not say one way is better than the other. I say they are different and say which one is a good fit for me.
I'm not saying there aren't differences, but we do teach/preach/advise/believe in much of what you're saying...for example, sin is a separation from God, absolutely. Priests most certainly do advise us spiritually and stress healing. Mysticism, again, yes. I know I'm not being specific. The titles of writings are escaping me right now, not a good time. Anyway, all I'm saying is that it appears you're taking a fairly narrow line and I know there's so much more that you've not read or taken into account. It's understandable since, as I said previously, there's only so much reading one can do. St. Augustine is not the be all and end all on sin. We do utilize the apophatic tradition as well, particularly the Thomist school, but are not as radical perhaps as the Orthodox. It's just so varied, there's so much more in the Church than what you've been exposed to. Maybe it's because I've been a Catholic all my life and am just more aware of it generally, whereas you're dependent only on what you can read or hear from those who aren't as well acquainted with their faith as they should be.

Nevertheless, I do think it's important for certain truths to be defined and wouldn't call it legalism, particularly not with disdain. The Epistles were essentially the first "definitions", the first dogmas. Error was creeping into the Church even at that early date and had to be corrected or else a free for all would have ensued. The one thing the Apostles didn't want was 40k different denominations, lol.

Why would you call him or anyone a joke? You sound like a little baby stamping your feet. Why don't you just do as he asks and provide some proof from Church teaching that what you're saying is true?
Why don't you just prove your deity exists?
Leave the church's circular reasoning out of it...just prove it even exists.

Here are a couple I doubt you abide by......
If a priest's daughter is a whore, she is to be burnt at the stake.(Leviticus 21:9)
Any person who curseth his mother or father, must be killed.(Leviticus 20:9)
That would certainly help to cut the population explosion down...and the deluded factor of society to boot.

<quoted text>Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, Regina. God has blessed me tremendously. After 2 years
they finally have a diagnosis for my condition. It puzzled 4 hospitals. So now there is hope. Still on oxygen but doing much better. Christ is our hope!!!
Herme, I am asking for prayers for my niece who also is having lung problems. She only has half a lung on each side.
Well now she has bleeding in her lungs and they don't know why.
It doesn't look good for her.
Her name is Debbie. I am glad you are doing better. God Bless

My dear, I said no such thing. And you are quite wrong, the analogy of the Church being a hospital, Christ being the Divine Physician, is very much Catholic.
I'm so sorry for you, Sera. Please lose the hate, it's eating you up inside and is not pleasant to watch.

Always willing to help the lame of brain...
I means: If they were being told that Mary the mother of Jesus was sinless...they were to search the Scripture and see if that be according to the Word of God...
When they did, they would find: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..
They would then boot the idiot out into the street....
Yeah, um, there wasn't a New Testament for them to search. St. Paul taught from his personal knowledge of Christ and the witness of the disciples. And he showed them the OT prophecies which pointed to Christ.

Mary is called "full of grace", perfectly endowed with God's grace by St. Luke (who wrote after St. Paul wrote "all have sinned"). Yes, her role in the New Covenant is foretold in the Old Testament. Thanks for playing.

The date my paperwork is showing is at the end of October of last year. You said you were going to get your phone records which would solve the problem once and for all. Why haven't you done so? Frankly, at this point, I no longer care as I know the truth and so does God. I don't have to prove anything. But it would likely calm you down a bit.
Old hag? I don't know what you're talking about. I've been called much worse than that by the protestants on this board. In fact, you and Herme were witnesses to it and objected strongly. Now you're agreeing with them. Somehow I don't think that's the work of God in your lives.
I will pray for you. You don't sound well at all.
I agree with you Regina. I think you're telling the truth.
Although I admire the Orthodox faith and I think Herm and Sera are passionate Orthodox... I thought it was ' interesting' they'd bring up the abuse scandal- implying its not equally a problem in their religion as ours. I guess that was red flag that they may not be as interested in truth as we all hoped.

What sorta proof do you demand? Lol. If the Judeo-Christian God went on CNN Tonight and proved He was the one that created life, you'd reject Him anyway!!! No?
I bet you my life savings, your free will would reject the God of Abraham because He does not share your ideology.

Cathaholics have no accountability. Just look at their pedophile priests and the coverup that the church has provided them.

I think it was the invention of Roman theocractic elites as an effort to convert as many Pagan and fence sitting cristers as possible to control all the trouble caused by them in the failing empire at the time.
Yeah, that was probably it. Hey look, there's something shiny on ground!
