You dodged the question. I figured that would be the case.
Your religion comes first, and common sense does not fit into your religion.
It can't.
Not a dodge.

God does indeed love everyone.

God does, nonetheless, hate sin.

Of course you put full faith in that catechism. That's why I stated you were preaching it as truth. And you denied that it was preaching.
Had you not been so invested in the idea that the catechism was based on truth, you would have avoided it, as it would not have been an "item" that infested your brain.
Straining so hard here, June.

I forwarded the Catechism on the subject. I said it was the Catechism.

I'm Catholic, I adhere to Catholic teaching so I sent you the Catholic teaching that informs my beliefs.

I didn't tell you nor anyone else to hew to it.

My sister once nurtured a budgie-bird. She spent a great deal of time teaching her little pet how to utter phrases.

She taught the bird how to say, "Where's Peter,(her husband), where's Cary (her son), etc. My sister's name was Isabelle ... but she never taught the bird to utter her own name.

One day before my sister went to work, in order to see if the bird would utter any words while she was gone, she set her tape recorder to "on."

When she returned home, she was astonished to find that when she walked out the door, the bird had uttered the words, "Where's Idabelle? He couldn't pronounce the "s," but the rest of the word was very plain.

Who knows when he uttered those two words, if the bird knew what he meant, or if it was just a chance occurrence?

Didn't change a thing. I just read it and comprehend it.
No one thinks that 1:15-26 doesn't describe a separate event.

I don't know who 'no one' is (no one that I know), but the whole thing took only ten days, in all of which they were praying together.

That would all be nice and fluffy and stuff except for the fact that the Reformation promulgated lies at the expense of the truth and has put millions of souls in jeapordy.
There can not be 43,000 different truths.
However, God does take horrible events such as the Reformation and make good come of it. It was not, imo, what He had in mind when He prayed that His Church be ONE, as He and the Father are ONE.
I don't think Martin Luther came along and convinced God that it was a good thing to SHATTER His Church into 43,000 shards.
**********
Let me remind you that the Catholic church was involved in the first known split, when they and the Orthodox saw things differently. Or perhaps there was a power struggle between some of their 'leaders'.
SO...churches still split for the same reasons, but the CC is just as 'guilty' as any of the others.
Martin Luther was far from the first. I'm sure there were many through the years...they just didn't have newpapers or internet.
KayMarie
Orthodox Church still recognized Church hierarchy as did the CC. There was no such thing as "Bible Alone" until Luther, 1500 years into the deal. That's when the splintering really took off. Now you have "christians" who don't believe Jesus was God, don't believe Jesus' 2 natures were/are inseparable, don't believe that Jesus instituted the Eucharist, don't believe that any other person has spiritual authority over them, don't believe that you even have to attend a church, don't believe in the communion of saints...etc.. and you have "christians" who believe Mary was just an incubator, who believe that God wants them to be rich, and this newest belief someone posted just today, who believes that the Bible is Omniscient.
Pop "christianity" today looking less and less like Christianity, true to it's method of birth: protest. That's at the heart of it. Protest. It must continue to protest even if is in protesting itself. Which it does.

Watch this crafty preacher in action.
Do you have faith that you will be saved while others will be doomed to a life without God's blessings???
I don't believe that my salvation is a sure thing, a done deal until I get to heaven, which I hope to, but I realize that if I am not careful, I could end up in a state which would land me in hell. Unfortunately, more people will end up in hell than in heaven. That's the bald truth of it.

Search the Scriptures. No where in it is the sinner's prayer. No where in it is the "sola scriptura" concept. No where in it does it say that God prayed for His Church to have 42,000 different squabbling splinter groups hanging off Her sides, jabbing at her with their tiny little toothpick-like weapons, banging their Bibles (which She gave them) at Her and calling her horrible names.
Nowhere.

**********
Two men went into the temple. One thanked God that he was not like 'that sinner'. He boasted of himself.

The sinner prayed the Sinners' Prayer: GOD BE MERCIFUL TO ME, A SINNER.

Jesus said that the man who prayed the sinners prayer was justified.

So now the Bible is Omniscient? I thought that was a capacity only God had.

People choose to disobey God which is not in their best interests since God is their Creator and knows what's best for them. Just like earthly parents love their children and know best for them. When a child disobeys their mom when she says "don't run out into the street" and the child runs out into the street and gets hit by a car, you couldn't say the mom sent the child out to get hit, or that the mom delighted in seeing that, or that the child's intent was to get hit.
