Two men walking along the railroad crossing at Howe Springs and Bannockburn roads in Florence County have died after being hit by a train, according to Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken.
The 22- and 28-year-old men were hit from behind just before 6 pm Thursday evening, according to Amtrak officials.
Lutcken says the men appear to have been struck from behind.
Officials say the Amtrak train was traveling from New York to Savannah.
About 133 people were on the train. They were not injured.
The railroad crossing was shut down while emergency crews were on the scene, but has since reopened.
The victims both lived in Florence and their names will be released Friday morning.
The accident is under investigation by CSX, Florence County Coroner's Office and the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
The incident is under investigation.

These young men ...While attempting to avoid being hit by one train...stepped into the path of another going in the opposite direction.
They were caught between the two trains and there was nothing left to identify of their bodies, but their library cards and billfolds.
How very tragic
Please pray for their loved ones
Your god could see the train coming and he did nothing to prevent the tragedy ... so all went according to his will.

You best stop complaining about the will of the god that according to theology created evil. He's probably on the same level of mental abilities as are you. Sarcasm intended

The truth: A name given at Antioch to those who believed Jesus to be the Messiah, A. D. 42, Ac 11:26 It seems to have been given to them by the men of Antioch as a term of convenience rather than of ridicule, to designate the new sect more perfectly than any other word could do.
Are you indicating that the Jews (faithful to Judaism) came up with the word Christian so that Catholics could branch OFF of Judaism with a new sect???

How ludicrous.

Don't spend too much money in there! We'll be fishing Everett Bay (by the casino) and off Moccasin point. Stayed at Bayview lodge several years ago, nice resort. Nothing like being on the lake with your sons, dads, brothers and nephews enjoying a few beers and each other's company.

Thought for the day:

During these serious and troubled times, people of all faiths should remember these four great religious truths:
1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God's Chosen People.
2. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.
3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian world.
4. Baptists do not recognize each other at the liquor store.

Thanks be to God, the Catholic Church is not dictated by cultural influence and popular opinion.
Of course it is.

My guess is, within ten years, the Catholic hierarchy will bend to the pressure put upon them from all sides and agree that to be homosexual is now okay with "god."

It wasn't long ago that Catholics OWNED black slaves and preached that blacks had no souls, were on the same level as other animals and that god ordained slavery.

Many things have changed. For instance, the pope no longer preaches that heretics and witches must be burned at the stake to please "god."

That god needs to be pulled out of service by people refusing to believe in such a horrible image.

But you SO idolize that word "salvation" ... that's all that matters to you.

Romans 1:28
(11) And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a (m) reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(11) He proves the unrighteousness of man by referring to many types of wickedness, from which (if not from all, yet at the least from many of them) no man is altogether free.
(m) To a corrupt and perverse mind, by which it comes to pass that the conscience, having been removed by them, and they having almost no more remorse for sin, run headlong into all types of evil.

So you refuse to retain the knowledge of God in you mind and have become every whit reprobate
There is not neutral stance...
You evidently are choosing to be lost worlds with out end...
Would you please post some scriptures that don't agree with your stance on issues.

I'm SURE they exist, as that bible is a book that has been USED for all purposes.

If it was or is a god's will, how could it change one way or the other?

It's VERY plain that the men always did and do make the rules according to their own wills.

You said it right.

About 10 yrs ago we got a guide named Cliff. He showed us how to use the wind and fish off the islands; jigging off the rocks. So that's usually our most success on that lake.
We seem to get the Crappies too on that lake, and from what I understand, not allot of people do.
Well, you never know.. My brother or uncle could call me up that week, and we'll be heading up. If its spur of the moment like that, they usually camp down from the casino. I haven't done that yet. I prefer a bedroom and kitchen. lol.

Of course it could change, we know that, we've always known that. It's a discipline, a practice, not dogma. And no one ever said it was dogma. lol, nothing new here, June.

Fancy words will get you no-where. It's plain that no god on earth or in the sky tells those men what to believe.

They always made it up as they went, and they always will, as long as people support their lies.

Centuries of Catholics and Protestants killing each other over words interpreted in VAIN has lead to nothing that resembles peace ... and still, that one word "salvation" makes you ignore all else in the hopes that a Jew came to the world from the sky with a message that only those who believe as Christian's believe will be saved.

And Christians don't agree and never have agreed on who is worthy of the blessing of "salvation." They all preach that it is THEY and ONLY THEY who gleans sparkling truth from words.

What a shame that you refuse to see the lies in which you live!

Another archaic medium on the throne who believes he channels a god from the sky.

I suggest that if he lives to reign ten more years , he will be singing a different song.

HOMOSEXUALITY: The Vatican condemns gay acts, tolerates gay tendencies. Francis goes a bit farther.

Gay marriage is "an anthropological step backward. If there's a private union, then third parties and society aren't affected. But if they're granted marriage rights and can adopt, there could be children affected. Every person needs a masculine father and a feminine mother to help them settle their identity."

It was in the neighborhood of ten centuries, and yes, it was supposed celibate priests and nuns and bishops etc., that committed the molestations.

What goes in in society, goes on the same in places of worship.

Humans are not above being human.

From the book "The History Of Christianity ... The Church from the Reformation to the Present, Volume 2, by Clyde L. Manschreck ... comes the following.

Dedicated to the austere ideals of Cluny, Gregory sought to enforce clerical celibacy not only as a purer state but as a means of freeing the church from the world. In1074 he prohibited future marriages and ordered married priests to dismiss their wives or give up reading mass. Clerical marriage from his viewpoint was no better than fornication.

Here is an example of a pedophile who molested both boys and girls, hiding in the guise of serving a god.

Global-Sisterhood-Network

By Tom Arup

THE parents of two girls who were repeatedly raped by a Melbourne priest are flying to Sydney from London to face Cardinal George Pell in time for Sunday's World Youth Day final Mass.

Anthony Foster, whose daughters were raped by Kevin O'Donnell when they were in primary school, alleges Cardinal Pell stalled the family's compensation claim against the Catholic Church when he was archbishop of Melbourne.

Earlier this year, the eldest daughter, Emma, took her own life after a long battle with drug addiction, which Mr Foster attributed directly to her rape as a schoolgirl. His second daughter, Katherine, who developed a heavy drinking habit, was hit by a drunk driver in 1999 and left physically and mentally disabled and requiring 24-hour care.

Last night, Mr Foster told the ABC's Lateline program that last week's revelations that Cardinal Pell allegedly obstructed a sexual abuse case against another priest had sparked him into action.

He said he hoped he could support others with sexual abuse claims and change the church's attitudes to compensating victims.

"I want them to set up a system that provides a life-time help to victims, that begs forgiveness to victims," Mr Foster said.

Mr Foster said an apology by the Pope to victims of sexual abuse in the church would not be satisfactory unless it was backed up by structural change.

"An apology is not enough unless it is backed up with action, unless he removes all obstacles to continuing support for victims," Mr Foster said.

"They should come to us and beg for forgiveness."

His daughters were raped over five years by O'Donnell when they attended Sacred Heart Primary School in Oakleigh between 1988 and 1993.

In 1996 O'Donnell was convicted of abusing 11 boys and one girl, aged between 8 and 14, between 1946 and 1977, and sentenced to 15 months in prison. He died after his release in 1997.

Initially offered $50,000 by Cardinal Pell under his "Towards Healing" program, the Fosters pursued their case via the legal system for eight years, culminating in a six-figure settlement with the church in 2006 - one of the largest of its kind in the country.

In 1998, when Emma was 16, Cardinal Pell wrote to her, saying: "It is my hope that my offer will be accepted by you as a preferable alternative to legal proceedings and that it too will assist you with your future."

"On behalf of the Catholic Church and personally, I apologise to you and to those around you for the wrongs and hurt you have suffered at the hands of Father Kevin O'Donnell. I offer you my prayers."

Mr Foster last night claimed this apology was removed by lawyers for the church in 2002 during the court case over compensation.

"Emma carried the pain of her abuse for all her life until it ended recently," he told the ABC. "We really want to make sure that in her name and her memory something is done for other victims."

A spokesman said the church did not have enough time to respond to the story last night or whether Cardinal Pell or the Pope will meet Mr Foster.

Last week Cardinal Pell was accused by Anthony Jones of attempting to cover up a non-consensual sexual experience with Father Terrence Goodall, by ignoring the results of a church investigation.

Cardinal Pell denies the accusations and has referred the case to an independent panel.
