I've been to the east side of Vermillion a few times. Tried the west side last year. I love that lake.
Clam isn't very good for fishing, but it'll do this year. Yellow lake is just 10 min north and is phenomenal, so there's always that option. Now I'm getting jacked up from talking about it! Maybe I'll go to Gander and look at some gear. Lol
I have friends from NW Wisconsin, it is gorgeous, I just have a hard time hanging around those cheese heads! Ever been to Cabelas in Rogers? Great store. Yes, Vermilion is beautiful, one of my favorite lakes. Been going there did 20 years...never been skunked. The wife and I (more me than her) are thinking about a cabin for retirement...they'll have to get more shopping in Tower though. Lol.

I. AN APPRECIATION OF ORTHODOX SPIRITUALITY

Orthodox Christianity possesses the seven sacraments; valid ordination, the Real Presence, a reverential understanding of Sacred Tradition, apostolic succession, a profound piety, a great history of contemplative monastic spirituality, a robust veneration of Mary and the saints, and many other truly Christian attributes. Catholics (including myself) widely admire, in particular, the sense of the sacred and the beauty and grandeur of the Orthodox Divine Liturgy (which - it should be noted - is also present in the many Byzantine or Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church), as Thomas Howard eloquently illustrates:

When I walk into an Orthodox Church ... one is immediately aware that one has stepped into the presence of what St. Paul would call the whole family in heaven and earth. You have stepped into the precincts of heaven!... I love the Orthodox Church's spirit. I think the Orthodox Church many, many centuries ago, discovered a mode of music and worship which is timeless, which is quite apart from fashion, and which somehow answers to the mystery and the solemnity and the sacramental reality of the liturgy.

("A Conversation With Thomas Howard and Frank Schaeffer," The Christian Activist, Vol. 9, Fall/Winter 1996, p. 43)

In pointing out the differences between Orthodoxy and Catholicism, no disrespect is intended towards my Eastern brethren in Christ; this is simply a "comparison and contrast" for the purpose of educating inquirers who are interested in both Christian communions. My Catholic bias will be evident and should not come as a surprise to anyone. Nevertheless, I devoutly hope that I succeed in avoiding the shortcomings of triumphalism or lack of charity. And I certainly do not wish to misrepresent Orthodox views in any fashion. Catholics must believe that Orthodoxy is a part of the universal Church (commensurate with the Second Vatican Council and many recent papal encyclicals on ecumenism in general or Orthodoxy in particular). That fact alone precludes the justification of any condescension, animosity, or hostility, which is especially sinful amongst Christians (Galatians 6:10).

Experts reject homosexuality as risk factor

(“Neither homosexual nor heterosexual orientation is a risk factor,” they said,“but rather, disordered or confused sexual orientation is a risk factor.”)

I understand that you would like to cast all of your church's problems on homosexuals.

You caught that blight from the words of your popes.

Shame on them and if you keep on with your ideas ... shame on you!

It's not nice to use religion to bully innocent people.

Pedophiles are not homosexuals or heterosexuals. They are pedophiles.

Nuttier than fruitcakes!!![/QUOTE]

YOU sure are June! In fact, you are the "trumpet section" that continues to "spew out" the "editorialized opinions" of one author, composer, or writer,(either) Protestant, atheist or agnostic opinion after another and then "lumping them all together" and arriving at your own "silly" (personal opinionateD nonsense). As I have told you before, for someone (your age), you certainly have learned "little or nothing" when it comes to discernment. You may have attained a substantial amount of intellect AND information, but "woefully lacking" WISDOM!!

Pedophiles are not homosexuals or heterosexuals. They are pedophiles.
The vast majority of abuse was done by homosexual priests and the victims were pubescent and post-pubescent boys. Very few occurrences of pedophilia.

I'm wondering where you draw the line? It wasn't too long ago when society thought the idea of a persons putting their 'junk' in someones mouth was sick. Now its glamourized.
I was comparing homosexual acts to pedophilia because both could be viewed as abnormal sexual attraction. And I don't understand why either would be protected by the US constitution.

America recognizes marriage because the founding fathers saw the benefit of the Family contributing to a stronger union. No family, no country.
Homosexual artificial families are NOT beneficial. There is no reason for society to recognize it. I personally know of one. And that poor kid is so screwed up -despite all the acceptance and love around him at school and home. We the People will have to deal with the consequences when this kid grows up.
conclusion: society does not benefit from recognising his parents marriage.

Don't BE so stupid.

Children in churches were abused by men and women molesters, who abused both boys and girls.

If it's consensual it's none of your business or mine what others do in with their sexual activities.

You are not a moral guide or dictator just because you are in a religion.

For your information husbands and wives have oral and anal sex, and don't believe it is EVIL as your churches teaches is based on a god's truth.

Stupid people!

Yeah I love Cabelas. They are building a new one in Woodbury, 10 min from my house!(breaking ground very soon I believe)

You must know Vermillion a lot better than me, because I've been skunked. lol
Out in front of the casino and in front of Bayview lodge are two of my favorite spots in spring.
I could be happy just to be drifting on that lake with a pole in the water and not catch anything. There is so much wildlife to look at..
Hope you get your limit!

Are you an Anarchist?
I'm not making someones sexual adventures 'my busines'. However, having to live in the same society as them, I will choose to use my constitutional right to speak out against something I see as being unproductive to our community. I want to encourage the Man/woman marriage in a covenant, with children being raised in that covenant, as much as possible. And yes, heterosexual couples are just as guilty for the moral breakdown of the family. The fruits of this is evident in many areas. Can't you see what the breakdown of the family has done?
I think you're a feminist though, so you probably think the woman was a slave because she cooked dinner for her family. lol.
Oh well, who suffers? the children. And when they get older, society has to bear the brunt of the psychological reality of what divorce does to them.
THAT'S why marriage is recognized and encouraged by We The People, June. It has nothing to do with someones 'right' to put their sexual organ in someones digestive system.

The Council also supplemented the Nicene Creed, or "Symbol of Faith,"
with five Articles in which is set forth its teaching
about the Holy Spirit,
about the Church,
about the Mysteries,
about the resurrection of the dead, and the life in the world to come.
Thus they composed the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed

The Third Ecumenical Council. was convened in the year 431 A.D., in the city of Ephesus, under Emperor Theodosius II. 200 Bishops were present
THE POPE SENT TWO BISHOPS, ARCADIUS AND PROJECTUS, TO REPRESENT HIMSELF AND HIS ROMAN COUNCIL, AND THE ROMAN PRIEST, PHILIP, AS HIS PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE. Philip, therefore, takes the first place, though, not being a bishop, he could not preside. It was probably a matter of course that the Patriarch of Alexandria should be president. THE LEGATES WERE DIRECTED NOT TO TAKE PART IN THE DISCUSSIONS, BUT TO GIVE JUDGMENT ON THEM.IT SEEMS THAT CHALCEDON, TWENTY YEARS LATER, SET THE PRECEDENT THAT THE PAPAL LEGATES SHOULD ALWAYS BE TECHNICALLY PRESIDENTS AT AN ECUMENICAL COUNCIL, AND THIS WAS HENCEFORTH LOOKED UPON AS A MATTER OF COURSE,
ONE SHOULD CONFESS JESUS CHRIST AS TRUE GOD AND TRUE MAN-
The Orthodox co-opted the Jewish Holy Book.

The Romanists co-opted the Orthodox Holy Book.

All added touches of other ancient dogmas.

Understand this, even if what you said was true, both Cain, his descendants and all of the Nephilium's died during the flood.
"Lack of spirituality causes desperation in deluge."

The above statement about religiosity is delusional.

The reality...

The most religious regions of the world are the poorest, with the highest rates of crime.

In the USA, the most religious states (Bible Belt) have the highest homicide rates and tend to be less educated.

We must remain in contact with reality.

According to the confessions from men and women who were raised in the Catholic churches, now out in the public arena ... when they were children, they were molested by nuns.

Yet not one word came from the hierarchy about "lesbians" molesting children, and that was NOT by coincidence ... that was on purpose.

As occurred all through the centuries of hierarchical sermons, homosexual men were their TARGETS.

"God said so" ... was their story and they were "sticking to it ... as they preached their lies as though the lies were based on truth.

Criminals in god-garb!
