The self-perceived holy members of the church always tried to dictate to the scientists what was and what was not "moral."

Microbe Hunters by Paul de Kruif … published 1926

When Elie Metchnikoff invented Calomel ointment for the prevention of syphilis that “chased the disease out of armies and navies the world over,” the moralists, and there were many doctors among them … raised a clamor against these experiments of Metchnikoff.

“It will remove the penalty of immorality!” said they,“to spread abroad such an easy and a perfect means of prevention!” But Metchnikoff only answered:“It has been objected that the attempt to prevent the spread of disease is immoral. But since all means of moral prophylaxis have not prevented the great spread of syphilis and the contamination of innocents, the immoral thing is to restrain any available means we have of combating this plague.”

This argument, over which dear friends grew to hate each other and about which professors tried to crack the skulls of priests, was briefly this: Can living things arise spontaneously, or does every living thing have parents?

Then the Lord God said, Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil.
What if they reach out, take the fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!
So at that moment, they were not immortal.
They had to eat the Fruit of Life to live forever.
Yet most Christians insist that when they die, they pass into another place alive and conscious.

And why, if God knows everything did He have to ask a question?

Did He not know what would happen?

Maybe it was all a mistake putting the tree of knowledge in the garden.

Should God not have bannished satan from the garden?

It would have prevented a lot of death and suffering of those whom He loved.

Jesus would not have to have died either.

Do you have their writings?
Of course not. They exist only in your imagination.

The Bible says Jesus died on the cross at the hands of Pilate. This is confirmed by the roman and Jewish historians of the day. They were not Christian and had no reason to embellish events. They were simply recording the history, now used to confirm the Biblical account.

Your denial of these facts is the delusion brought to your mind by the so-called 'science' who have kept these facts from you.

Words of men of little use. Often amounts to little more than babel and opinions, unlike the word of God.

Christianity among the Mongols

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Overall, the Mongols were highly tolerant of most religions, and typically sponsored several at the same time.[1] Though in modern times the Mongols are primarily Buddhist, during the time of the Mongol Empire they had a substantial number of Christians, many of whom were in positions of considerable power.[2] Many Mongols had been proselytized by Christian Nestorians from the Assyrian Church of the East, since about the 7th century.[3] When Genghis Khan, as the young Temüjin, swore allegiance with his men at the Baljuna Covenant, there were representatives of nine tribes among the 20 men. Temüjin was a shamanist, and the others included "several Christians, three Muslims, and several Buddhists."[4]

Why do people insinuate that God made a mistake just because they don't understand why He chose to do a certain thing? Should He have consulted these people first to get their opinions on the matter?

The bible was compiled by the traitor ex-Catholic Jews. The faithful Jews were put to death BY the Catholics.

The Jews had the whole theological truth in their old Testament. They didn't need a new story. Their case was closed.

Those self-perceived moralists were certain that the god of their dreams would want humans with syphilis to be punished.

You are of the same mindset. You feel power from telling others they are evil and will be punished by your "god."

Are you indicating that the Catholics WERE the faithful ones to the god of the Jews?
Surely you aren't THAT ignorant.
Catholics were NOT faithful Jews. Not even close. The Catholics changed the dogmas of the Jews, and slaughered the Jews labeling all of them as the traitors.

The first Christians were not Catholics:

"The Nazarene sect used in the Book of Acts clearly referred to both Jewish and Gentile followers of Jesus' Apostles ... they accepted the virgin birth of Jesus.

The Nazarenes were originally Jewish converts of the Apostles who fled Jerusalem because of Jesus' warning of its coming siege."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazarene_%28sect...

Who do you think the new testament book of Galatians was written to? The Galics (Celts) of Ireland. This was some of the first Christians. There is even a local legend that Jesus' uncle Joseph of Arimathea went there soon after Christ left this earth. There Joseph founded the church at Glastonbury which is the oldest known church outside Jerusalem.
http://www.arian-catholic.org/arian/firstchur...
http://www.asis.com/users/stag/glastonb.html

Glastonbury was recently in the news when some vandal cut down the tree which legend holds was planted by Joseph of Arimathea.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/8192...

So there were the Nazarene Christians of Syria, and the Christians of the British Isles -- these grew into the Celts (St Patrick, who was not Catholic) and the Albigensians Cathars and Waldensians.

Billy Graham felt power when he preached that only Christians would be "saved."

Now he changed his sermon, and still doesn't admit that his change of mind had nothing to do with a god instructing his thinking.

Many Jews understood the OT prophecies of the coming Messiah and did become Christian. That some failed in this is their own problem and will not change what has happened with fulfilled messianic prophecy.

Arrrrrrrrrrrr..... FSM loves you.

Jesus is an historic fact. The Bible says he is God and Creator. There is no proof for any other gods.

The Bible is confirmed with a long HISTORY & SCIENCE.

Add your 'caveman' to the textbook fiction.

I believe they were the first ones to use the term Christian.

There were probably many break-away Jews disgruntled with Judaism. That type of habit was commonplace.

But the first word Christian was used by the Catholics.

Ignatius was a Catholic
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>>

The skullduggery of the early Catholics to give the impression that Jesus was a savior to ONLY Catholic Christians is plain for those who want to see.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>

Ignatius in his letters is warning his flock to stay away from all sorts of theological perils out there, including Judaism and including all sorts of mistaken Christian theologies. And, in his writings, Ignatius uses the word Christianity, and he uses it ... in contrast with the word Judaism. We have here for the first time a polarity, a contrast. There is something called Judaism and there is something called Christianity, and true Christians will make sure that what they believe and what they do, is in fact Christianity and it's not Judaism. That is explicit and unambiguous for the very first time in the writings of Ignatius around the year 110 or 120 B.C....

Tell me, how can thousands of Protestants keep a straight face, as they convince people the Holy Spirit is guiding them to truth, when none of them teach the same.
For example:
there are two evangelical mega churches in the twin cities that I know of. One Pastor says God doesn't know the future. He says Its playing out now and our choices will determine it. God will find out together with us, I guess.
Another preaches that God knows everything. He's outside of space and time and just because He knows the future, He still respects our free will and does not interfere with what we choose.
(The second one is in line with Catholicism. The first one is not.)
You guys are a doctrinal mess as each one chooses their own Christianity.
This one believes if everyone thinks alike and takes their orders from Rome, the world will be a better place.

Ahhh, the good old Dark Ages.

So tell us, how well did Catholic prayer do in curing the Black Plague?
