Mother Teresa took the title for herself of "Superior General."

Please don't venture into this. I hold the Holy Bible to be the precious word of God. You understand very little about Sacred Scripture. The deeper you dive into Catholicism, the deeper it will take you into the Bible. You people may think the Books are a simplistic personal letter to you and your family, but its not. I'm not saying you can't learn things on your own- like certain messages. But please please, I beg you LTM, get out of the preaching business. So many people are turned away from Jesus Christ upon hearing the Gospel through very ignorant people. You just can't ask them to throw out reason and logic first, and then accept your version of Christianity!
Yet you want them to accept YOUR version of Christianity, and you don't see that as self-serving.

You are blind-sighted and held in bondage by your own ego.

Never heard that before.
This story is my favorite, because I believe it to be true:
The origin of the prayer to Saint Michael. The story, if I remember correctly, was Pope Pius (or Leo) was approaching the alter at Mass when he stopped and stared above the tabernacle; then he collapsed to the floor. Later after people asked him what happened, he said he heard two voices. One was scruffy and rasped and one was gentle. It was Satan and Jesus conversing..
The scruffy one stated that he can destroy the Church. The gentle voice said "if you think you can, then go ahead". Satan asked for more time, Jesus said 'How long' and the devil asked for a hundred yrs.
The Pope installed the prayer to Saint Michael shortly after.
I believe that was at the beginning of the twentieth century. And what happened for the next 100 yrs was some of the most evil the world has ever witnessed. Not just the terrible wars but the introduction of pornography into society and the legalization of abortion as well. Its destroyed our souls from within. The infiltration of Pedophiles into the Church too.
But in the end, the Church is still standing. Satan can't destroy it even if he takes down a few Priest or Bishops.
The only reason you believe in the teaching that Catholic saints existed, was because you so desire to be a supposed saint.

That is what the theologians wanted you to believe, so they could get you to follow their string of lies.

Many Catholic died fighting wars in the belief that killing others pleased "god" and that they would be rewarded with martyrdom and sainthood in a hereafter.

Are you so naive that you would believe a god wants you to kill other humans, such as stoning homosexuals to death?

I suggest you wake up from your slumber ... but ... it's your choice if you choose to stay asleep in the blight of such stupidity for your empty promise of "salvation."

Many years back in time I ran a yearly campaign to raise money for the Red Cross.
While I ran the campaign, I also canvassed and went to individual homes asking for donations.
It was there I also learned a great deal about human nature.
One day, I went to a home up a little hill, and when I asked if the person wanted to donate, with a sour demeanor, he refused. He had a very impressive farm with a nice home built on the premises.
I thanked him for his time and went across the road to the home of another farmer where smiling kids ran around the yard playing. His home was deteriorating, the buildings in need of repair, but with a big smile the gallant host gave me twenty-five dollars for the campaign.
The kids smiled up at their father in pride.
i had similar experiences when i drove cab for a living,the hardworking waitress always gave a nice tip thankful for me being there so they don't have to walk home after 8 plus hours on their feet,then there is the guy in the $1000 dollar suit charge him 5.50 for his ride he gives you 6 bucks and keeps his hand out waiting for that 50 cents back. point? money breeds greed.

Does John Paul II bowl?

Although John Paul II is a dedicated sportsman who skis well, swims regularly in his summer-home pool, and does a lot of hiking, he has never once used the bowling alley that Pope John XXIII put in for Vatican use.

Which pope was an automobile buff?

Pius XI (1922—1939) kept a fleet of 16 cars in the Vatican garage. Three of these were convertibles.

Nonsense, I don't care if they accept the Catholic Church or not. I only debate them, because they speak falsehoods about what I believe and the CC believes. The inadvertent result of this debate, is their theology is brought to the surface. They are exposed.
That's why I have told them before, its better for them to not venture into a debate with Catholicism. The faith is too deep in scripture for them to understand. They would have been better off reading their Bibles and praying. Now that their beliefs have been exposed to be contradictory to what the Apostles taught, what do they do?
Now their going to be held responsible for preaching falsehoods. Last year, God would have understood why they did it. This year, there is no excuse to keep preaching things opposite of what Christ taught.
So no, I do not directly care if they become Catholic. I do however, care that they misrepresent Christianity and preach false things about my faith.

you're a perfect example of why the Church protected Sacred Scripture for so long.
You read the Bible and designed your own religion.
Ironic, you believe Noah had two of every single animal, creature and critter on Earth... in your brain, that's possible. But Jesus Christ being present in the bread and wine are impossible.
Even though He held it up and said it was. And all of Christianity understood it as such until you guys showed up and said, "Jesus was speaking figuratively; its just a symbol. But Jonah spent 3 days in the belly of a whale and Noah had Polar Bears and North American Bobcats on his ship.
That's cute OldJG.
If you do not believe the Biblical account of Noah and Jonah how do you decide what to believe in the Bible? By your own knowledge and wisdom? By instruction of your pope perhaps? Have you ever read this verse..........Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?"

You speak like the serpent in Genesis 3:1-3. Wait, you probably don't believe this Biblical account either.

Genesis 3:1-3, 1 " Now the serpent said to the woman,“Did God really say,‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent,“We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say,‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

Did God part the Red Sea? Did Jesus heal the sick and raise the dead? Do you believe Jesus was RAISED from the dead? How do you decide what to believe? When you do not believe the Bible you call God a liar. The Bible is God's word to us.

Has there ever been a pool-playing pope?

Pope Pius IX (1846—1878)—who actually began his career in the Papal Guard—was a nut about billiards. Having installed two billiard tables (one in the Vatican and the other at Castel Gandolfo,) he spent much of his leisure time knocking the balls around the table with a cue stick. Mostly, he played billiards with cardinals or members of the Papal Guard, whom he beat with skilled regularity.

Has a pope ever been assassinated?

Pope John was assassinated in his sleep when an unknown assailant beat him to death with a hammer nine days before Christmas in December 882. As was the necessity for anyone who ruled a city or state in central Italy, Pope John—a soldier by profession—built up his own navy, and in April 876 personally led his naval squadron against Saracen ships, freeing more than 600 captives.

"God" must have fallen short of giving the pope messages. The pope seems to need body guards and an intelligence service to protect him from harm.

OH well ... the Jewish god does seem to work his magic in mysterious ways. Sarcasm intended.

The ex-Catholic Jews taught their followers to believe that the Jews were "Christ-killers."

Had the Catholics taught that the Catholics were the traitors against Judaism, people would have caught on that a Jewish god would never EVER send his son to save or rescue traitors of Judaism.

But the followers of Catholocism didn't catch on. That promise of salvation got in their way of common sense. And today countless Catholics still believe that a Jew will be waiting for them in the hereafter to lavish them with eternal bliss.

There is no cure for such willing stupidity.

If you want the pope to be happy ... you have to play nice and show respect for the son of the Jewish god.

For instance ... unless the person wanted a fast exit ... not one of the scientists in the vatican would DARE to indicate that the god worshipped by the pope does not exist.

I'm very sure that we all know that one to be true.

I am not impressed with/by your effort to con me with your lies

IF YOU CAN'T GIVE SCRIPTURES FROM THE OLD OR NEW TESTAMENT TO VALIDATE AN APPOINTMENT OF A POPE.(A UNIVERSAL BISHOP)..I WILL NOT BELIEVE THAT SUCH A ONE/POSITION IS LEGITIMATE.

It is obvious (TO ME) THAT you don't have a scripture to stand on...

So you are wasting your time...

Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Mal 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Mal 3:18 Then shall ye/JESUS return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

~~~
I Contend the the NEW TESTAMENT IS a book of remembrance THAT was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
THE THE NEW COVENANT/TESTAMENT ...
IS WRITTEN ...TO BRING FORTH TO MAN
THE REMEMBRANCE ....of those things that ...
JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD...BOTH SAID AND DID.
Todays Gospel at Mass. "Peter, feed my sheep"
You'd be horrified if your ignorant mind could see that 30 + Popes lived and died before one presided at the council in Rome, when the Christian Bible was compiled.
So, why would you demand to see something more spelled out in scripture?
"You are Peter, and upon this Rock I'll build my Church" "Peter, feed my sheep"
What more does the Frint demand that our sacred scripture reveal??
Could you provide Book, Chapter and verse where God tells us if 39, 66, or 73 Books are His word?
Could you provide Book, Chapter and Verse where Christ tells us we should follow 39, 66 or 73 Books as the sole authority on His teachings.
The cold truth sir, is Our Lord nor His Apostle ever commanded a Christian set of Books be created. Given what happened to Christians and their scriptures during the persecution, its a miracle we have ANY writings. It is by the grace of the Holy Spirit that Pauls letters and Matthews memoirs survived through this and we have the written word to go along with the oral and sacred tradition passed down by the Apostles. The Mass and Eucharist. If your brain could comprehend anything outside of what you conjure up from scriptures, you'd tremble in fear knowing you make fun of something that came directly from Jesus Christ.
