<quoted text>The first thing an institution in the spotlight does is exactly the things you mentioned.
1. make many speeches condemning the abuse
2 list all the new training provided to members (clergy)
3. list the preventative measures taught the laymen
4 new mission statements and policies
I have seen this many times. When you start seeing top brass being escorted away in cuffs as a result of the institution itself assuming responsibility now we are talking.When the books are open now we can know the extent of the problem and extent of the progress. I have been doing this a very long time.
I see so can you list all those organizations that have done this? Just wondering how many other churches publish their data and have done extensive investigations with independent firms.

As I said I dont care if its the Pope, Cardinal, Bishop, Priest Patriarch or whomever. If they actually committed abuse then that darkness will come to light. That is part of what the policies are intended to do. Encourage people to come forward and the darkness will have light shined upon it. Allegations however are not always true. It is unfortunate that false charges make way for doubt for the truly guilty.

You are right. Your Church corrected the problem. In fact your Church is at the forefront of how to deal with sexual abuse in the church. All other churches should follow your church's example. Perhaps the Orthodox can adopt your preventive policies when we all join together under your Pope who had been head of the Church since its beginning. Godspeed.

Your Pope expresses great joy on this Palm Sunday as Your Pope celebrates mass in Vatican Square with ALL the Faithful in Christ.

To the hundreds of millions of you wonderful endearing and kind-loving peoples of the world, may your hearts be always filled with the Holy Spirit.

As Your Pope prepares for the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ this coming Good Friday and His subsequent Resurrection from the dead, it is in His great Name that Your Pope prays for you one and ALL.

May the Peace and Joy and Blessings of Our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you and your families, now and forever. Amen.

Your Pope

Actually some Orthodox and Protestants have looked to the church and implemented policies that have proven to be effective. However your arrogant side is showing again. I said it is being worked on, I didnt say it was over. I said no matter what we do some will sneak by and sins will be committed. I have asked who has done more or is doing more? I dont think you can ever do enough to prevent these issues, but its clearly not being acknowledged by many institutions.

There has been a drastic reduction in accusations and many of the current cases go back 30 years. Studies are being done in other countries and it will be painful, but it needs to be done and it is. That doesnt mean its more prevalent, it means that something is being done. I know the Orthodox have had an ecumenical council to address it right? You streamlined universal policies right? You publish everything quarterly like the church does right? I am pleased with the Orthodox churches who have taken in an interest in working together rather than condemning as you do. However if that helps you sleep at night then by all means fight the good fight.

That would be great, because to date you haven't contributed anything intelligent on it. Yes it is useless and its too bad you cant see it. You do waste time as you prefer to be an ignoramous and slander with hate. We didnt bring it up in a self righteous tirade of emotion. I am sorry you can't join with the Orthodox who seek common ground and work together as your Patriarchs have encouraged. Even if our churches united there would always be those who would reject that and hold to their own beliefs and thus would be in schism with your personal truth.
I forgive you for calling me names and trying to belittle me.You expressions of love, I will treasure.Christ knows my heart as he knows yours.Stop the name calling please.

Only to gnostics. To everyone else breaking bread is a meal. The disciples were having a meal Saturday evening before a long journey Sunday.

Its sad how you guys don't know how to read the Bible- particularly the Book of Revelation. In your bold pride, you add to John's prophecy with disregard to your soul despite his clear warning what will happen to you.
You guys gave the Church the title 'Roman' Catholic. Then you turn around and say its the 'Roman' Catholic Church and NOT the Roman Empire that John Prophecized!!

Im glad you see the Roman empire in Daniel. That's great!

Now if you study Daniel chapter 2 you will see there are only FOUR empires. There is no 5th. The Roman empire is here when Jesus (the stone) returns to destroy the statue and set up his kingdom.

Then we are told this Roman empire has many 'heads' as one is wounded another takes over.

The Roman empire ended 475 AD only to reform as the holy roman empire that ended in 1798 with Napoleon as Rome's final global empire took over that runs the UN.

When the doctor says you are sick I assume you accuse him of condemning you and name call and throw insults at him. I sleep well knowing I have dedicated my life to preventing sexual abuse both in individuals and institutions and have written and implemented policies. Your church has a sickness. It is called sexual abuse and cover up.Open the books. As far as the Orthodox Church is concerned I am not a defender of its wrongs as you are of your church. All the name calling, and accusations, and finger pointing will not change it. Your Church has an illness and can be fixed.

I don't need your forgiveness nor do I owe you an apology. I stated the truth. You on the other hand should go to confession for the bile you have been vomiting on this thread. The self righteousness coming from your side is truly amazing. Your heart is looking pretty ugly right now and you should ask forgiveness for that. Your comments are ignorant and hateful and that is a fact. Willfully remaining ignorant to satisfy your burst of rage in unfounded hostility is something you should talk to your priest about.

Quit writing policies that will protect you from lawsuits and DO SOMETHING. HOLD SOMEONE IN THE HIERARCHY ACCOUNTABLY ON YOUR OWN AS A CHURCH.

Agree!!!! I,We as Catholics, believe that we are ALL eucumentical bothers and sisters in Christ!
Unfortunately---bible only Protestants "DON'T agree"!
~~~
We Bible only Christians don't agree...because your conjecture cannot be found PROVEN in the Bible..
WE HAVE GOD'S WORD WRITTEN DOWN...
WE HAVE THE WORDS OF JESUS...
JESUS SAID...Mat_4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Luk_4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
WHAT YOU ROMAN CATHOLICS BELIEVE IS ONLY WRITTEN IN YOUR CATECHISM...
WE BELIEVE IN BEING OBEDIENT TO JESUS AND WE ARE STRIVING TO LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD...
AS HE SAID..." by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
YOU LIVE BY BREAD AND WINE ALONE...THAT IS YOUR FORT..
GOD'S WORD DON'T MEAN SQUAT TO YOU.
We serve Communion and strive to follow God's word AS IT IS WRITTEN.
