There will be a day of reckoning....

Quote: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book..

Parallel verse: Ps 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Therein is your problem!!!! "when He descended:..
Descend: To move from a higher to a lower place;

If you own a Thesaurus you will notice there are several meanings of the word, dumb dumb! descended also can mean to arrive suddenly.
intransitive verb to become more evident or established, suddenly or by degrees i.e. An atmosphere of gloom descended on the assembled crowd. You're not as smart as you think! Remember the original bible wasn't in English. Most Bible readers assume the English translation of the Bible is an equivalent and exact representation of the original text. Because of the vast difference between the Ancient Hebrews' language and our own, as well as the differences in the two cultures, an exact translation is impossible. The difficult job of the translator is to bridge the gap between the languages and cultures. Since one can translate the Hebrew text many different ways, the translator's personal beliefs will often dictate how the text is translated. A translation of the Biblical text is a translator's interpretation of the original text based on his own theology and doctrine. This forces the reader to use the translator's understanding of the text.

It's funny bc here you are trying to defend your version of the bible when in truth your version wasn't the first or last! Grow up Oxbow!! I suggest you read the bible and grasp the concept and true meaning! Then you can stop acting like children and arguing over what phrases are correct! You should be supporting eachother not trying to tear eachother down like a pack of wild dogs!

Thats not all they changed! There are many factors that go into a translation which are invisible and unknown to the reader of the translation. This forces the reader to use the translator's understanding of the text as his foundation for the text. For this reason, readers will often compare translations, but are usually limited to Christian translations. I always recommend including a “Jewish” translation when comparing texts, as this will give a translation from a different perspective. Yes, it will be biased toward the Jewish faith, but Christian translations are biased toward the Christian faith as well. A comparison of the two translations can help to discover the bias of each.

I haven't looked at the link yet, but I've heard about some crazy things in the 'book of Thomas'. If the link refers to it, Are there any correlations between that book or other NT books referring back to it? What evidence is there that the book is inspired?

Clay---just curious!! How often do you go to the Cathedral of St. Paul! I often go there from the West Minneapolis area for prayer intentions, Mass, prayer and confession!.... A number of years back, 3 of my children went to and graduated from St Agnes School, before Providence Academy was built. Always enjoy your comments. You have more patience than I do with these bible only editorializing "fundies"! Would like to meet up sometime! Thanks and Gods Blessing to you and your family during this season of Lent!!
Thanks HoJo
We're not dealing with normal Christians on here. Most people who've been presented with the evidence we Catholics have provided - uncovering the deception preached by them - would cease doing what their doing. I guess that's why I have more patience (but not always). I know that nothing will ever change them. They really really want to believe things about Catholics. In fact, they need to believe certain things to exist. When they are proven in error, it becomes more nasty. They'll scratch and claw for any Bible verse that will 'justify' what they think. example: " John, 6:63, flesh profits nothing. Our hands are washed"

Anyway, I attend the Cathedral every week for sure. I like the Sat morning 8 am daily mass. You can usually find me on the right side wearing a blue or black hooded sweat shirt looking kinda construction worker type.(Im almost always headed to a job on Saturday mornings, I have a side business remodeling commercial offices).
Plus, I'll occasionally attend an evening mass during the week. The Cathedral became my home parish for about 10 yrs now. Fr Joseph Johnson used to be the rector and I couldn't get enough of his preaching. So I became a member. He's gone now but i stayed there.

"If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

But 99.9999% want to take the easy way.

USA Catholics embrace the wealth, freedoms and rights of Protestant America, forsaking Jesus and the poor to the south.

So much for walking to so-called talk.

Kill Priests of Other Religions.....

"Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people that they would be the LORD's people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people. And all the people of the land went over to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They demolished the altars and smashed the idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. Jehoiada the priest stationed guards at the Temple of the LORD. Then the commanders, the Carite mercenaries, the guards, and all the people of the land escorted the king from the Temple of the LORD. They went through the gate of the guards and into the palace, and the king took his seat on the royal throne."

Can stand up to your Self?

So you continue to divert......

So somewhere along the way man was able to get in the way of the inspired message God intended us to have?
Citation please.

Man doesn't have the capacity to understand "God". The RCC and Christianity, and every religion created does the same thing - they think they can define "God".

Arrogance is more adored in many ways - putting honesty aside.

I understand.
Saban fan wrote:

Also, you seem to believe our infinite creator couldn't deliver us a message we could understand. How can you limit Him so?
I don't limit "God" - religions do.

I guess I just don't understand how you can believe certain texts, and only because of men, whereas, you refute still others.

Why does "God" need men to deliver a message int he first place?

....and they all have teachings by Jesus that you don't use.

Instead of just looking at the list, and actually reading them, they may give you the answers to why you believe "Paul" is more enlightened than Jesus......or maybe not.

Who's dishonest? The one that answers a question or the one that will not listen to and accept an answer and keeps asking the same question?
I must've missed it. Please supply me the link to your post that answers this:
"Why do you think "Paul" is more enlightened than Jesus?"
Yes - I am looking for honesty.
