The lifelong friends they lost due to their conversion. The ridicule from family. Its tough. I wouldn't want to face that decision. Many just embrace ignorance and continue on with their life.

That never happened..The RCC is a denomination (A large group of religious congregations united under a common faith and name and organized under a single administrative and legal hierarchy.)

Christ did not build any denomination...He established Christianity.

A letter written by Ignatius of Antioch to Christians in Smyrna around 106 is the earliest surviving witness to the use of the term Catholic Church (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, 8).
