There were policies at the diocesan level. New staff candidates were given interviews with the pastor of the parish, adult men were never allowed to be alone with girls, women with boys, etc. I knew of them at my Church.<quoted text>
Tony...if policies were in place why weren't adults involved with children put through programs and told about policies in the 25 years I was at the catholic church?
It was not until the charges came out when they instituted them. Why were adults never told about them?
When did the technology for full back-ground checks become available? When did having child pornography on laptops become possible?
Things are much different today than even 15 years ago in our ability to make sure people aren't lying about themselves.
