Tony...if policies were in place why weren't adults involved with children put through programs and told about policies in the 25 years I was at the catholic church?
It was not until the charges came out when they instituted them. Why were adults never told about them?
There were policies at the diocesan level. New staff candidates were given interviews with the pastor of the parish, adult men were never allowed to be alone with girls, women with boys, etc. I knew of them at my Church.

When did the technology for full back-ground checks become available? When did having child pornography on laptops become possible?

Things are much different today than even 15 years ago in our ability to make sure people aren't lying about themselves.

Men sin. True.

But it takes a big institutional effort to cover up child sex-abuse...

... on 5 continents,

... for many decades,

... including abuse at schools for the deaf and orphanages,

... using the power of state diplomatic immunity.

Individual sinners couldn't possibly do something so large.

It took a decades-long effort by a very organized, very secretive institution.

Jesus did not guide that. Jesus is not proud of that church effort.

It's not moral. It is not Godly. That notion is absurd.

so sinful men lead God's church here on earth....huh. lets look at this. God is without sin, hates sin, doesn't tolerate sin, punishes sin, put sinful men in church of His church here on earth? hmmmm
*would only make sense to a catholic.
He didn't stick a bible in their hands and leave them to come up with tens of thousands of protestant interpretations.

You accept the authority of those same men that you ridicule, yes, those Catholic men, who did put that bible in your hands.

Hey, Chuck, how does one determine if a baptist group with a leader who declares himself a pastor by his own authority belongs to the SBC or not?

Catholics here delude themselves into believing that Ireland -- the most Catholic country on earth -- broke diplomatic relations with the Vatican, all because of a few individual sinners.

Baloney.

like I said...only makes sense to catholics.

Sweetheart...I asked you an hour ago about financial support for you parish and you dodged it. Now you ignore it by asking me questions.. I get it, you won't touch it.

Old hag, lol! What a snot-nosed, whiny baby you are.
Get off your fat butt and get some fresh air for a change, help someone less fortunate, do some good for someone other than yourself.
You can't give a post number, because you are delusional.

As for "old hag," you seem to have forgotten how you defended your boyfriend when he kept calling a Catholic mom that, over and over.

You turned on that poor woman like a viper, recently claiming she probably wasn't even Catholic.

With friends like you, who needs enemies? Old coot :o)

Do you financially support your home bible group knowing full well that your pastor is a sinner?

I'll give you my answer; Yes.

Do you always call women you don't know sweetheart? I thought you didn't commit those kinds of sins.

Nice deflection, but you accept the God-given authority of the Catholic Church every time you open a bible. Logical, makes sense to everyone...except anti-Catholics who have to reject it in order to justify their heretical doctrines. Christ founded a church, gave her His authority. You're not in it.

So, how about telling me how one would determine if their little baptist gathering club is part of the SBC or not? You keep answering my questions with questions, Chuck. You do that a lot. Hiding something? Afraid? Embarrassed, maybe?

Yes

I can answer questions Tony...your friend Regina doesn't not.

However...if my pastor was involved with a molestation lawsuit I would not. You think Regina would?

Can you speak for her?

"the Holy Spirit"

Is it the Holy Spirit that 'born again' home church bible folks know when they molest and commit adultery at the same rate as every other Christian group?

REGINA M. says......God hand-picked men to lead and administer His church on earth.
Men sin.

MICHAEL says....then why didn't these men who committed FELONY CRIMES against children, report themselves to authorities so justice could be served. God would expect that of someone who sinned and broke the law.

God would not hide or protect anyone guilty of child crimes, and I hope neither would you.

So you decide which sins are worth supporting and which are not.

And let's set the record straight here. Neither I nor Regina have any priests active in our parishes that are involved in a molestation lawsuit. And there are no priests actively running or participating in any diocese who are the subject of molestation charges. That's part of the "new" protection rules we're discussing.

The church might now have a handle on abuse scandals but now the money laundering scandals are on the front burner, along with investigations of what the church calls RADICAL FEMINIST nuns.

What is coming next? Priest unions. OOPS! sorry! they are already here.

Double-wide, quonset hut, converted 7-11 store, etc. There all over the place up here.

The question again, without the home church bible qualifier; Do folks who claim to know the Holy Spirit like you do get some kind of pass with God considering they molest and commit adultery and other such serious sins at the same rate as other Christian groups?

why do you folks put words in my mouth. I never said you did.

So we are clear though, if you did would you still financially support it?

BTW...did you ever find those papers about my church about paying liability insurance?

You said trust you...so I am. thanks

I never said the Church is innocent, in fact, I admit that many priests were guilty of abuse and several bishops listened to the wrong people and thought they could 'cure' them by counseling.
But YOU said protestants and protestant clergy ARE NOT guilty of abuse and cover up.
I'm doing my duty by proving you totally wrong and confirming your ignorance and bigotry.
ANTHONY says....... they could 'cure' them by counseling.

MICHAEL says....

....Back in the day, if you witnessed someone raping a child, or woman, would you call for a COUNCILLOR!, or would you call the POLICE?

That was just a cop-out. BS excuse to protect the church.

Who calls for a councillor in an emergency?.....NOBODY!

BUSTED!

nope and there you go with the "serious sin again". What was it again about yelling at your neighbor? It's sin but not a serious one?

**not sure if it matters but our church is in a good size building with about 150 members. Maybe your question should be directed towards double-wide churches.

**we did need a multi million dollar building like catholics to worship God. We use something more modest. I'm sure God is impressed though.
