Dear, did you even read your own links? The Zenit article said that Benny was having a bless the sinner not her sin when he blessed Kadaga (which is wonderfully pictured in the Patheos article by the way). The Patheos article is just plain outraged that he would do such a thing, which makes me wonder if you even bothered to read it.

Why do people quote posts they say they are reporting?

I would go so far as to say that every person any Pope, Bishop or Priest has ever blessed has been a sinner. Many of them were criminals. He even extends blessings to those who vehemently oppose what the Church teaches (Fidel, the current POTUS).

A blessing does not confer agreement.

The Vatican party line is that Benny was blessing the sinner and not her sin, we hear that a lot. What they and yourself are failing to grasp, is that for those who are the victims of her sins, he is giving his tacit approval of them. He knew he was blessing one of the driving forces behind the hoped for legal genocide of Uganda's supposed "gay problem" and yet he did it anyways without one word of rebuke before or since. He should be deeply ashamed of himself.
