White House Petition Calls for Obama Admin to Designate the Catholic...

Jan 8, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: TheBlaze.com

On Christmas Day, a petition was added to the White House web site, urging the U.S. government to "officially recognize the Roman Catholic Church as a hate group." According to a brief description accompanying the plea, the basis for the designation is the church's stance on same-sex marriage and homosexuality.

What Matt is talking about, is the FACT that the Catholic church, primarily the Pope, through his words and actions, influences death globally, primarily in Africa. Him, the Pope, shouting off his big mouth telling aids ridden Africa that condoms are bad, is a great harm to those people.
The FACT that the Vatican has sheltered, moved and protected pedophile priests for decades and who knows how far back it might have went, has harmed and ruined thousands of lives.
The hatred and bigotry that comes from the catholic church against gay people is appalling, and affects millions of lives.
If you think throwing a blanket of charity over top of that is good enough, than you are no better.
"FACT"?

Condoms aren't the answer to AIDS; they're more prevalant there than mosquitos and AIDS still runs rampant in Africa.

What "hatred and bigotry" against gay people? Can you cite an example of that, please?

The abuse scandal is old news-Matt Dillahunty didn't break that story. I can find Atheists like Matt who have done bad things too.

That's easy ! Many PROTESTANT denominations, such as The Evangelical Lutheran Church In America (ELCA), The United Church Of Christ (UCC) and The Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) permit gay marriages in their churches. That is protected by the First Amendment. But the Roman Catholic Church is OPPOSED to the legal recogniztion of those religious marriages, thus attempting to deprive the members of those PROTESTANT churches the right to EQUAL PROTECTION protection of their RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, which violates teh FIRST AMENDMENT and the FOURTEENTH AMENDMENT. Do you dispute that ?!
It doesn't rise to "dispute", since you're so wrong, but yeah-I dispute it.

The First Amendment doesn't mandate what a church does or doesn't believe. Where'd you get that? They haven't directed their opposition to protestant churches-they don't care what they do. They've directed the opposition to state sanction.

Are you a bafoon? Next to a cure, and aside from 7 billion people abstaining from having sex till the last person that has aids dies, condoms ARE the best answer to fighting aids.

Use google, idiot. There's litterly hundreds of times the pope has spoke up against gay people, whether it's adoption, marriage, etc.

You are such a typical christard, skirting around the abuse scandal.

Following me again, huh, darlin'? There isn't a thing you can say that could bother me, as (excuse me) I think you are egregiously STUPID. Why don't you get a girlfriend or something? Oh, wait - you can't. Mary was married (NOT legally - no consummation) so that leaves you out in the cold, Mr. Placebo Effect, LOL.

Now - have a good day and do NOT pick on my ethnicity.

Dan, the way you speak (always with high morality), you'd better had been a virgin when you married. NO, I'm not asking, just betting that you weren't. And if you were not, you justified it :)

I'm not a "baffoon", but I can spell "buffoon".

The Pope has not one time spoken a word against a gay person. If you find a quote from him that disprages gay people in general or a gay person individually, please provide it and cite it.

If condoms are so effective, why is the plague of AIDS rampant in Africa? There are likely more condoms than people in Africa.

The Catholic Church does not condone homosexuality. Do they have to? If so, who says and on who's authority would that be ordered?

Who's moralizng? I wasn't.

The poster claimed that the Pope's position on condoms and AIDS was immoral or similar. I disagreed with him/her.

Sorry! I misunderstood, that's for sure. Oh wait, confused here - I think the pope is WRONG about forbidding condoms. But why should I care what he thinks anyway?

You sure seem to care.

There isn't a thread on this board that isn't treated to your posts if his name should happen to appear in the title (or if it doesn't-as in this thread).

So? Look at YOUR posts. You seem to have your favorite topics. I'm for equality and that's that. Don't like it? Don't read my posts, easy solution.

Question: Why ARE condoms so prolific in Africa? If you know, do tell.

Because they're sent there by the shipload on the faulty premise that their mere presence will ameliorate AIDS.

"I'm for equality".

What does that mean? That everyone has to share your opinion?

You never fail to take umbrage to anything that would come out of the Pope's mouth or pen. What does that have to do with being "for equality", exactly?

Yeah! I am pretty sure that the hundreds of thousands of raped children that the catholic church has tried to cover up for the last nineteen hundred years got the memo.

Well, if the esteemed Matt Dillahunty (whoever he is) says it, then the matter is settled.
Someone might want to forward Dillahunty's wisdom to the innumerable recipients of the Church's charitable and educational works wordwide so they can be "enlightened" similarly.

Whether or not you agree, I'm still entitled to my opinion, and I think this pope is evil. I'm for equality doesn't mean I expect others to feel as I do, but you Catholics sure expect all others to agree with you. That's because you're in the "one, true religion" and your pope has made the ignorant statement that non-Catholic religions are not really Christian. And you HAVE to believe that. What makes you think God approves of all Ratzi says? Yeah, I know...ex cathedra, etc. That doesn't guarantee the pope's right.

You tar the Pope as "evil" sans evidence, make blanket statements about "you Catholics" and then tell me you're "for equality".

The protestant churches you mention self-identify. They don't want "equality" with the Catholic Church.

What, again, does banging on the Catholic Church do in service to being "for equality"?

Never suggested anyone turn a blind eye to it.

However, it's not a proxy argument for any discussion on Catholicism.
