Pope Francis Has History of Anti-Gay Decisions

In unadorned white robes, the first pope from the Americas sets a tone of simplicity and pastoral humility in a church desperate to move past the tarnished era of abuse scandals and internal Vatican upheavals.

The Roman Catholic Church does NOT believe in Freedom of Religion, nor the separation of church and state.

For these 2 reasons alone, they are UN-American.

They have never been in favor of equal rights for us, nor many other people, so we certainly shouldn't expect this Pope to be any different than past popes.

If you are not a Catholic, like me (I'm a church-going Protestant), then I say to completely ignore this new pope and anything the Roman Catholic Church says.

If you ARE a Catholic, unlike me (I'm a church-going Protestant), then I ask you: WHY ???

It's hardly surprising that the new Pope is anti-gay; I wasn't expecting him to be a human rights advocate. Are they ever?

What remains to be seen is if, and how, he will address all the problems he has inherited, particularly the on-going sexual abuse scandals. I'm also very interested to see what kind of relationship he'll have with his new personal secretary (and ex-Pope Benedict's live-in companion), Monsignor Georg Gaenswein.

So he's anti-gay because he opposed the redefinition of marriage. Yet, you can't let it go without implying that he is probably gay.

He can "define" marriage any way he wants to as long as it applies to the Roman catholic Church of which he is the Supreme Leader.
