No regrets for Sinead O'Connor 15 years after ripping up pope's picture

There are 24 comments on the The Canadian Press story from Oct 18, 2007, titled No regrets for Sinead O'Connor 15 years after ripping up pope's picture. In it, The Canadian Press reports that:

“There is a place for (organized religion) but in our times it's important to understand ... that God and religion are two very different things. The difference between them is that God is unconditionally loving and religion is conditionally loving.”

- It was a moment that would ignite a global firestorm and brand her an industry and religious pariah, but 15 years after Sinead O'Connor ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II on live television, the Irish iconoclast says she has no regrets.

In fact, on this month's anniversary of that fateful act, O'Connor muses on what would happen if anyone ripped up an image of Pope Benedict XVI, the controversial leader who took John Paul's place.

"I don't think this pope is as beloved as the last one," O'Connor concludes diplomatically of the current pontiff, a hardline traditionalist. Read more

Ian ! You still here? like a bad smell still hanging around ,peddling your Anti-White hatred and using the old "Hitler" thing to brand any white person who takes any pride in his race, moreover, I don't need to read any "F%*#7n" Ryan or Ferns reports ,having experienced first hand the Physical abuse of attending no less than five different Catholic schools including boarding school, we all got beaten "black and blue" for the slightest thing, even for getting low marks, in the weekly tests we got "6 of the best" for each and every subject, No, I don't defend those "monsters", and I don't defend the "Monsters" of the Nazi Gestapo. either, but I don't blame the young kids in the Hitler Youth movement ,in those days (your with us or against us)for the crimes of the Nazi Politicians, and I don't blame the good priests and there are many. for the crimes of those "Monsters" who abused the children, the two above mentioned situations were easy pickings for "Monsters"to wear a uniform and set out to seek their prey. Remember this, It was more than 95% white people who destroyed the Nazis and 100% Catholics who are taking the criminal abusers in the priesthood to justice. I note that you polity refer to the "activities" of the prophet,(abuse is abuse) when ever it is committed, I still think it is a cowardly and cheap trick to tear up a picture of the pope, knowing full well that a 'fatwa' is not imminent, and have to hide for your life in fear of a misguided Muslim fanatic, seeking a "backdoor into heaven where he can have sex with 72 virgins.
What all the "White Power" shite? I mean everyone knows you KKK crowd are involved child abuse but why do you bring race into it?
If you want to get into history re Muhammed et al why not look closer to home? Lets start with the Catholic Churche's support of the Holocaust, or will we start with the crimes of the Inquisition (it is no wonder the Catholic Church is now run by a Nazi, he suits the job so well, he wasn't just a hitler Youth leader, he was also a Flugabwherkannonjagaer- anti aircraft gunner to you)perhaps it would be better to start with the crusades, the first attempt at ethnic cleanisng in the world?
So what if it is mostly whites who are bringing a tokren few to justice (actually in Ireland the campaign for justice for victims of Clerical sex abuse was started by a non white woman called Christine Buckley) the abusers were you really have your Roman Catholic head up your ass ..God help you, Allah be with you, Budda strenghten you...

Come on Ian, give us your history, describe yourself, I have read a lot of your postings,I believe you are, Anti- White, you are anti - Christian , you never acknowledge the short comings of any group but the two mentioned above, It won't matter soon any way, the white race is legislating and breeding itself out of existence. they say we are going Global... No were not.. only the west is going global. The few remaining Christians in the middle east are hiding for their lives. while their Muslim counterparts flooding into the west are given financial help to establish themselves, the tax payer often pays for the "single mother" second and third wife, plus all the kids. the last of the whites are trying to leave Africa. Africa is not going global, Asia is not going global. India is not going global. Britain is close to introducing Sharia law. where to from here. No , Ian, I don't support white power, I just hope for white survival.

I love Sinéad.
As a comment on saying that the pope was a wrong target for the criticism considering child abuse I'd like to make a point:
The pope is a strong symbol of Catholicism and ripping his photo was a symbolic act. The criticism was aimed at the Catholic church.
I totally agree with you. Sinead was and is cool for ripping up that pic of that nasty man. Well done Sinead and all who support ripping up pics of nasty people. People say "Well the old pope didn't know what was going on" But it was his business to know.
