I never claimed my "insights" are the truth or the only right ones, that's the difference. However, saying that a young unmarried pregnant woman in such an era was loose is more relistic than claiming some God impregnated her and caused a virgin birth.
Actually the idea of a virgin birth was a common theme used in the various pagan god-man myths from which the Romans created their version of Christianity.

Many pagan myths were introduced into the state mandated version of Christianity to make it more acceptable to the Roman citizens. Constantine's only reason for taking over Christianity was to unify the Roman Empire.

Jesus is supposed to be Jewish. Yet the Roman Jesus is more like Mithra, Horus, and other pagan myths more familiar to the Romans.

In Judaism, there is no provision for human or god-man sacrifice for sin. Also for one to qualify as the Messiah one would have to be a family man and be born of both man and woman.

The whole idea of a messiah was to be a role model for humanity of what each of us can evolve into, not a god-man whom the leaders of the Roman Empire could claim to represent!

The Jewish Jesus posed a serious threat to the political structure of the Roman Empire with it's pantheon of gods used to manipulate the masses with hate and fear.

The mystical message of the real Jesus was simply that all of us are one with God and that God is Love. This is basically an enlightened form of Judaism based on the omnipresent God of Israel and our place in the omnipresent God of Israel.

It is the egalitarian nature of the mystical form of Christianity that caused the Romans to replace it with something that was simply another variation of the same old oppressive patriarchal structure of power used to maintain power for centuries.

The Romans murdered the historical Jesus, blamed it on the Jews, and the rest is the history of the most horrible religion the world has ever seen!

The historical records are easily accessible and you can read all about it in the comfort of your home on the Internet much easier, now that we have the freedom to question the teachings of a politically powerful church without being burned alive for doing so!

Misogyny has a tendency to make me angry, so does child molestation both are products of the RCC.

There certainly is an element of both in the RCC, but only mysogyny is institutionalized.

Also, "child molestation" gives the wrong impression, suggesting in peoples' minds prepubescent children. The stats indicate minors, yes, but not prepubescent minors. In overwhelming majority, the RC offenders aren't (diagnostically) pedophiles, but hebephiles.

You don't need to show me the post. I know exactly what I wrote, and that was exactly what I meant. If I believe the story as written in the Bible then Mary was used as breeding stock. Did your all powerful God have to have some woman impregnated while unmarried making her look loose and whorish in the climate of the times? This God created the whole world according to your mythology and he couldn't send us a "Savior" without putting a woman through that hardship? Why make young Mary suffer an illegitimate pregnancy and the scorn of her community? Why make her have to relate some crazy story about an angel coming to her and God imprenating her, making her look nuts?
That kind of logic (snicker) is what I call "hilarious". It doesn't make a bit of sense but you Christians will hammer a square peg into a round hole until it fits the way you want it to.
Should Christ have been born of a man? Talk about hammering a square peg.

I mean, give me an alternative here.

It's fine to not understand why Mary was chosen, etc. but making it into some gyno-centric campfire scare story is disingenuous.

To revisit this post...at one time it was very uncommon for men to be nurses and women to be doctors etc. However, time has moved forward, things have changed, we have male nurses in all the hospitals and women doctors and surgeans, and the medical community has not collapsed, so maybe it's time for the RCC to drag itself into the 21st century. I bet women priests would be far less prone to molesting children.
Yeah.

Women are immune from pedophiliac urges.

Sure-if we ignore the mangling of facts, we can credit her for being passionately inaccurate.

Most women's orders are what qualify as "2nd" or "3rd" "Orders". You can take the same vows and live by the same rule. They'll CALL you an oblate or monk, but neither make you a cleric.
It's tonsured orders is what is barred to females.
There's no valid reason for this.
"No valid reason" according to whom?

I mean, they (the RCC) think there are valid reasons, and it's their deal.

Again Dan....nuns do not govern in the CC, they have a vagina which disqualifies them, a penis is required to govern in the CC. Keep evading the "governance" and male hierarchy issue by dancing ridiculously around the facts, it makes you look childish.
Again Morgana-

I don't have a vagina and I'm not in church governance.

That's a fact.

Sure you can.
Typical RC, confusing the word for the thing. You can be the thing, just not the word.
Not the same as tonsured orders.

"Christ" was born from the mind of man. I'm not using some mystic language here.

Yeshua was born to an unwed early-teenage mother.

Saul and his gentile followers shifted the entire discussion away from the message to the person.
