Actually the police put the crowd at about 300,000... and I agree, he didn't go to the mass b/c of his principles. Zapatero is a hero as far as I'm concerned, b/c he didn't buckle under to the church, and reminded them very publicly that Spain is a secular nation.

2/3 rd's of the country support gay marriage, so he never had anything to worry about! His voting base was in tact!

Still,

it sure is nice to know that there is at least one politician who doesn't sanction Ratzinger's well cloaked rants against loving human beings.

The sadest thing in the article is that out of the 80% Catholic population in Spain only 1 out of 5 are practicing.

Hispanic and African Catholicism is replacing the lost Catholics of Europe!

True, it is poor,

But I think the Pope's point was regarding this point:

The Socialist Government of Seņor Zapatero has been at loggerheads with the Vatican after legalising same-sex marriage, instituting fast-track divorce and permitting embryonic stem-cell research.

Yes, freewill allows us to choose the easy path OR the hard path.

Most humans want to choose the easy path every time. I know I do. Problem is, the easy path is not always the RIGHT path!

enough words??:):)

Peace ... John

PS Moon, I really tire of some of the lengthy posts on these forums, I hate reading all the words some posters write when one tenth of them will serve to explain. To be honest, I usually skip most of them!

Sorry if I'm not understanding, but if the Mullahs are hot to invade and looking to take gay butt, wouldn't that make them gay too? Just because they're tops doesn't mean they aren't gay.
