So "churches" refers to individual members? Oh cmon...that is a terrible twist on what the bible means. Unless I am misunderstanding you, that is just a ridiculous interpretation.

Did Christ build a church? Yes but NOT a prescriptive church. Christ's church is ALL who follow Christ, not just one specific group of people. There were many descriptive churches at that time and NONE were called "Church of Christ". There were groups such as "The Way", "Christians", "The Nazarenes", and there were others.

Jesus meant all those groups including any others that followed His teachings including future Jew and Gentile followers.

So to say that Jesus built one church is only partially right. He built one INCLUSIVE church for all who followed Him. Nowhere in the bible does Jesus ever call the people who follow Him the "Church of Christ".

I may have not said it clearly. I'm referring to all of the individual members of the church of Christ who send greetings, collectively called as the churches of Christ, "mga iglesia ni Cristo" in tagalog.

Well, even if that is your explanation, I still stand by what I said above....

There were many descriptive churches at that time and NONE were called "Church of Christ". There were groups such as "The Way", "Christians", "The Nazarenes", and there were others.

So to say that Jesus built one church is only partially right. He built one INCLUSIVE church for all who followed Him. Nowhere in the bible does Jesus ever call the people who follow Him the "Church of Christ".

--------

Never were those groups collectively given a prescriptive name "Church of Christ". And Jesus never called them such. He had many opportunity throughout the Bible to give them that prescriptive name and never did.

Ozzy, your knowledge about the church is far from the truth, even farther than what the catholics believe. What you have is the belief of the protestants. The catholics at the least believe theirs is the one true church. But yours is a diffuse conglomerate sects of opposing beliefs.

Here is a Q&A referring to the true church of Christ.

I hope you will be enlightened soon.

I have never stated my religious affiliation. But believe me when I say, I would be Catholic longggggg before I would even ever consider INM cult. In fact, there is a 0.00000% chance I would ever consider INM cult. INM is a CULT. Yes, a CULT. FALSE religion with FALSE prophet/angel/messenger or what ever you want to call Manalo. There is NO enlightenment in INM. It is a religious dictatorship. It is full of darkness, lies, and deceit. I have seen it for what it is and thankfully, so has my wife.

We dont hate people who belong to INM cult, we pity them.

Your Pasugo is one of the instruments of lies and deceit just as INMTV, GemTV, and what ever other resources INM cult uses for propaganda.

I kind of laugh when you write "church of Christ" and not "Church of Christ". I have seen you do it many times. Maybe you are not so confident in the INM cult yourself?

Even such, the article that you give a link to, your Poopsugo even admits there is nothing in scripture that says "true" Church. Basically, it is again propaganda to magnify the deceit of the INM cult.

Also in that article, there is the obvious twisting of the meaning of John 8:31 and John 10:9 to suit the benefits of the INM false teaching.

Actually, that entire article is nauseating the way they twist the meaning of the scripture they site.

Ozzy,

Gambling can't make you an Iglesia ni Cristo!!! Your only chance is to join Catholicism and Protestantism where there is no discipline and even re-admit Caterpillars, Leeches, Grasshoppers, flies, and Snails after they were once excommunicated:

"In 1120 the Bishop of Laon excommunicated the caterpillars which were ravaging their diocese. This he did with the same formula as employed the previous year by the Council of Rheims in cursing a priest who insisted on marrying. The Bishop of Laon was given money and offerings by the grateful peasants.

" Similarly St. Bernard when preaching at Foigny, was interrupted by a swarm of most un-Christian flies. Losing his saintly patience, he excommunicated them. Next morning the flies were all found dead. He received offerings...

"In 1451 William Saluces, Bishop of Lausanne, ordered the trial of multitudes of leeches which threatened the fish of Geneva. The leeches were ordered, under pain of excommunication, to gather in a given spot. The people concerned made abundant offerings to the Church.

"The ecclesiastical district of Autun in 1480 excommunicated an army of caterpillars and ordered the priests of the region to repeat the anathema from the pulpit until the caterpillars had been exterminated. The following year, 1481, and again in 1487, a most irreligious multitude of snails at Macon were duly excommunicated. In 1516 the clergy excommunicated the too numerous grasshoppers at Milliere, in Normandy. In 1587, at Valence, a former trial was terminated with a sentence of banishment against another multitude of caterpillars.

"Barthomew Chassanee, who wrote a large volume recording such trials, declared that beside being lawful they were also useful in so far that the Church, whenever successful in such actions, was rewarded with flourins and more abundant tithes than would have been the case had the vermin never arrived. When such miracles, excommunications, trials and the like were multiplied by the thousand, the florins multiplied with even greater rapidity than swarms of mayflies." (pp. 77-78)

If there is a spurious religion which accepts and admits insects as their faithfuls, it is but the Roman Catholic Church!!! These insects must behave so that these will not be kicked out!!!

Romans 16

New International Version (NIV)
Personal Greetings

1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon[a][b] of the church in Cenchreae. 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.

3 Greet Priscilla[c] and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.

5 Greet also the church that meets at their house.

Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.

6 Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you.

7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among[d] the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.

8 Greet Ampliatus, my dear friend in the Lord.

9 Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys.

10 Greet Apelles, whose fidelity to Christ has stood the test.

Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.

11 Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew.

Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.

12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord.

Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord.

13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.

14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the other brothers and sisters with them.

15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the Lordís people who are with them.

16 Greet one another with a holy kiss.

All the churches of Christ send greetings.

Ozzy, I know you know that in the original manuscripts there was no capitalization used. The capitalization applied to the bible translations is the product of the understanding of the scholars. For me I would tend to use the capital C as in Church of Christ to give the proper name to the church built by Christ.

I don't know what's clouding your mind Ozzy. The article's explanation was so clear for me. I told you if you'll not empty yourself of the anti-INC rhetoric no truth can get inside you because there's no space available.

Well, I've finished the entire old testament when I was in high school. I enjoyed reading it because it's not only like reading a history book but also I was able to reflect the happenings there to myself and knew how the Lord God is the most powerful entity. Truly He can see what you're doing at any moment.

But to get to the truth how the Lord saves human's soul comes judgment day, I honestly learned it only from the teachings of the Church of Christ (INC).

Think of it like this:
The church of Christ is the body of Christ = common noun
Since the church of Christ is a major part of Christ, it is only fitting to call it in the proper noun as the Church of Christ.

Yeah, to make things clear, it's the Catholics' bread and butter. From the infant's water sprinkling baptism, wedding, up to his time of burial, they collect fees before one can obtain their service.

To add emphasis to my point:

The catholic word is also a common noun.
Then, because the leadership of that group wanted it to be called in the proper noun, they capitalized it to become Catholics.
