Islamic countries are not what is shown on TV. If you had been to one, you wouldn't ask this question. It is really simple. You have to find the truth yourself and it is always our decision in what we want to believe in. Now many people will say how about the people who were kidnapped and treated badly. There are all kinds of people in every country. So many kidnappings of foreigners happen in countries like Mexico, but no one says that its because they are all bad or their religion is bad.

Islam is not just a religion it is a political ideology.

If Isalm was so superior, then Isalm would have contributed more to the world than the west.

Islam has not contributed any great strides in science medicine or technology.

instead Islam has done nothing but war, murder, torture and oppress people all over the world.

I think you missed the point. I meant that just because some people do kidnappings in Mexico that doesn't mean they are all bad.

No, but the Mexican military and police forces enter into the U.S., protecting the drug smugglers, and shoot the U.S. border patrol. You just don't hear about it. And the Mexican government is considering going to the Hague to prevent the U.S. from putting up a fence on our border....

2 This Scripture(Quran) there is no doubt in it, is a Guidance for the reverent
3 who believe in the Unseen, and establish the Salat, and out of what We have provided them with, they do spend;
4 and who believe in what has been revealed to you (Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)), and in what was revealed before you (to the other Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them)), and regarding the Hereafter they firmly believe.
5 These are upon Guidance from their Rabb(God), and these are themselves the successful.
6 surely those who reject Faith it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them they will not believe.
7 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts, and upon their hearing, and upon their sight is a veil; and for them is a great chastisement.
8 And of mankind there are some who say: We believe in Allah and in the Future Day, but they are not at all Believers.
9 Feign would they deceive Allah and those who believe. But they do not deceive any except themselves, and they do not perceive.
10 In their hearts is a disease, so Allah increased to them the disease, and for them is a painful punishment because they used to belie.
11 And when it is said to them : Do not make mischief in the earth, they say : Verily we are in fact peacemakers.
12 Is it not that they themselves are the mischief-makers? But they do not perceive.
13 And when it is said to them: Believe as the people believe, they say: Shall we believe as the fools have believed? Is it not that surely they are themselves the fools? But they do not know.
14 And when they meet those who believe, they say: We believe. But when they are alone with their Evil-ones, they say: We are really with you, we by ourselves were only mocking.
15 Allah throws back the mockery on them, and leaves them along in their trespasses blindly wandering on."
Father, hear our prayers for the salvation of the world.
Grant Mercy to all souls that turned away from You.
Open their hearts and minds with Your light.

Gather Your children from the east and the west,
from the north and the south.

Have mercy O God on those who do not know You.
Bring them out of darkness into Your light.
You are our saving God
Who leads us in our salvation.
Protect us from evil.

Bless and praise You O Lord,
hear our prayers and answer us.
You, our Savior,
are the hope of all the ends of the Earth
and the distant seas.
May Your way be known upon Earth;
among all nations Your salvation.

We put the world in Your hands;
fill us with Your love.
Grant us peace through Christ, our Lord.

Lord, we pray for the power to be gentle;
the strength to be forgiving;
the patience to be understanding;
and the endurance to accept the consequences
of holding to what we believe to be right.

May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil
and the power of love to overcome hatred.

We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe
in a world emancipated from violence,
a new world where fear shall no longer lead men to commit injustice,
nor selfishness make them bring suffering to others.

Help us to devote our whole life and thought and energy
to the task of making peace,
praying always for the inspiration and the power
to fulfill the destiny for which we and all men were created.

Could any one tell me what does the following verses from Bible mean? who is the other comforter is Jesus(peace be upon him) talking about?

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me,‘Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.[c]

what Jesus said was exactly true, people at his time didnt bear what he said and nor the people of this century do.

If you believe Jesus(peace be upon him) was peace lover,
then why are these following verses present in Bible?

""Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. 13 However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate. 14 But if a man schemes and kills another man deliberately, take him away from my altar and put him to death.
15 "Anyone who attacks [c] his father or his mother must be put to death.

16 "Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.

17 "Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.

18 "If men quarrel and one hits the other with a stone or with his fist [d] and he does not die but is confined to bed, 19 the one who struck the blow will not be held responsible if the other gets up and walks around outside with his staff; however, he must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and see that he is completely healed.

20 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

22 "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

26 "If a man hits a manservant or maidservant in the eye and destroys it, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the eye. 27 And if he knocks out the tooth of a manservant or maidservant, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the tooth.

28 "If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull must be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible. 29 If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be put to death."

Why did Jesus order to kill the person who did sin?
If he is peace lover, then why didnt he ask people to forgive the sinner?

please explain...

I found another verse from Bible that says:

"Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. 23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.

Here Jesus says, His anger will be aroused and He will kill you with sword.

Does Jesus make use of sword? Is he forgiving and peace lover? If so, why is the word sword(a symbol of violence) coming in above verses.

Need clarification.....

Let me know if you dont know which chapter I am refering to.Or if you dont care to go back and look at your Bible. I will be more than happy to give you the details.

Those verses are present in the Bible becasue they are OT.. the laws of moses, etc. We can still learn a lot by studying the OT.

I read the first few in this list. they are NOT the words of Jesus. They are old testiment laws that were abrogated by the new convent that Jesus made.

For example there is an OT law about executing an adultress or forniactor. But Jesus stopped a stoning of a woman and said that the person who had never sined could throw the first stone. In order words death for sexual 'crimes' was abrogated.

As I told you in another thread. Your understanding of Christianity is very very limited.

No we say don't go to Mexico because it's not safe and they have criminals for police.

but you see Mexico does not have thigns like religous aparthied built into their laws. No one is attacking groups of people just because of their religion. NO one is burning down entire towns because the people are of another religion... but this is happening in most Msulims countires against non muslims... the persection adn atacks are based on a person's relgion./

Thanks for clarification. I know much about Christianity but Yes I dont know anything about Bible that you refer. I am eager to learn what is in Bible.

You said some verses of OT which are laws of Moses(peace be on him)are abrogated.If they are abrogated then why do they still exist in Bible?

Moses says Kill the guilty. Jesus abondons it and says Thou shall not Kill. You have both the testaments placed in same Bible. And you believe,learn and memorize both of them.Dont you think you are still reading and memorising what Jesus has abondoned?

Whose commandments to obey and follow? You should follow only one law.If you try to follow both the laws you will go astray.. think about it.

I have no such intensions to talk anything bad about Jesus(peace be upon him). I respect him whole heartedly.
I qouted those verses just get you to this point.

why is this discrepancy in Bible?
May be the authors of Bible didnt think at that time that this question might arise later. huh?
