just in short I have never meant or implied that the abuse never ocured or should have happened .
it should have never ever occured but unfortunelty it did .All I was trying to say is usally these abusers where abused themselves. does mit make there actions ok forgivable heck n o but im will allow by God to punish them since our churches failed inthis area.
as far as your comments i felt like you implied or implying thechurch did nothing wrong it sounds like you implied that this abuse never happened happened , now we need to move past this to ensure it never ever happenes again.
this abuse has sickened all of us esp fr, brian mckeon he was the worst on e of all but he is dead and God be with him for what he has done, brian was a wolf in sheeps clothes.

"now we need to move past this to ensure it never ever happens again."
Where have you been? This has been going on in the RCC for hundreds of years. It has been and is still going on all around the world. The latest blowup was in Ireland.
Non, members of the RCC have been well aware of what was going on within the RCC Priesthood system and the coverup for years. The blind and faithful lay people of the RCC ignored, justified or in many cases turned a blind eye. The Priesthood system of the RCC from the Pope's on down have covered it up and let it continue. Only when caught to the point they have to do something do they.
If GOD is going to be relied upon to punish the guilty he has had plenty of times to do it. Some say that even some of the created Saints of the RCC are guilty.
Here do some reading but don't stop because it offends your views. Some of it might not be just right but a lot is correct.
So read and - keep scrolling down - and come out of the darkness into the sunlight. Ignorance is no excuse to think the case at hand is the beginning or ending of the problem. It has existed for years and continues to exist.

It seems to me that alot of people confuse churches with sports teams.
Its not the church thats important as much as your relationship with God. Its the FIRST commandment. I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other Gods before Me.
I say I went to church. The first thing people want to know is what church. People are so obsessed with what church. Its not the church or the priest who are God, and worthy of so much obsession.
I remember one nun out of hundreds that said something off to me. The Holy Spirit stepped right in. I never spoke to her again, and prayed for her.

jut maybe some people ask, " what church are you from?"
just to make light conversation? and this is there way of doing it,or maybe they are interested in finding a new church, there could be hundreds of rrasons why they ask this question.
please do not assume that just cause they ask what church you are from they are saying the church is more important then their relationship with God UNLESS of course you know for a fact that these people who ask you this question they themselves do not go to church and then I would turn their question ,"what church are you from?" into a work/mission from God.
I would I am from St. Johns would you like to come to church with me someday?
turn what could be a negative into a postive,

With all due respect, you seem to have selective vision. You left out the first sentence. "Some people confuse churches with sports teams."
What Smokin Joe meant was they are looking to compete, thats their attitude.

If these men were not priests, they would ALL be put in jail. Strange how the collar seemed to protect most of them and, the children had nothing to protect them.
I still feel so cheated and lied to. I have just sworn off the Church completely.

No question that the Priesthood of the RCC has covered up, protected and thus promoted such for years.
I fully understand that the blind and faithful lay people of the RCC just ignore, justify or refuse to see the reality of what was and is going on.
For years members of the RCC have walked away because of the mess and the clear fact that the lay person of the RCC has no say in the RCC, only the Priesthood. A Christian Church has been taken over by a cult of Priests for their own self serving purposes.
Fact is the lay person (members) of the RCC have no say in correcting the matter other than either paying the bill and letting it continue or walking away from their Church. For years those who came forth to report the abuse were shut down and chastized by the RCC so they either shut up or walked away.
Christanity does not exist solely within the walls of the RCC or its Priesthood. The real Church of Jesus Christ exist in you heart and you can find other building with other believers to worship in.
Read and study the scriptures for yourself.

FaithfulThanks. I am so happy that someone understands me. Yes, I have stopped going to Church but, I still pray. You're right, this is just a building. The Church will continue on though. People will still be dropping their Offerings in the baskets and, the Priests will still be protected. I am sure that, there is still abuse going on.
I pray for all the past, present and future victims. As long as the RC Church exsists, there will still be corruption.

I will never allow the stupidity of these morons /jerks to stop me from my relationship with God. yes the church is a building and the people make up the congretation to go into the church/building.
you are right these priests are protected by the cloth and if it was anyone elese they would have been charged with a crime.
the church has protected the priests too long and we as a society need to do more to protect our children past ansd present victims.
we need to stop this corrupution but as long as people continue to put in money in the baskets I believe the problem will continue.
I go to mass/church but refuse to put money into the basket.
as I said in my past posts since the church and society esp the church failed these children I hope anbd pray that God will handle it. it is not up to me to judge themfor there crimes for if I di they would have been tortured 7 times 7. so I say it not up to be to judge I will leave that in God hands esp since society and our churches failed these children and their families.
These crimes against our children are horific and yes the church turned a blindeyye esp in Fr. Brian
case \ yeah lets keep transfering the problem finally when the heat was on the RCC did something to late.
I will continue to go to church but I have a different viewon my faith.

Yes, you should worship. The true Church of Jesus Christ is within you. Its up to you to develop it. You can worship anywhere you please and if you wish to worship with a gathering of other like Christians. That is called Church.
No single branch or denomination of Christianity is the only or true way. No Priest or Minister is the only one to listen to. No singular building either by denomination or location is the only gate way. Read the scriptures for yourself. Understand the New Testiment or New Covenent given to us by Jesus.
The right way happened at the day of the Penticost where the gift was given to all people who accept Jesus Christ into their life and hearts. It happened not in Rome or to a Pope but in the Holy Lands and was given to all believers. The Gift of the Holy Spirit was given to all mankind not to a select few or to a certian Church as the exist today.
Its up to you to develop the Gift given to you and expand the Church of Jesus Christ as he wanted it. Be a better person tomorrow than you are today. Do what you know to be right.
There is only one person that stands between you and God and that person is Jesus Christ. If you want forgivness ask God in his name not the Popes or a Priest, or a dead Saint.

Jesus was a black man. killed by whitey.
#154 Jan 5, 2010
Jesus was a Jew of the time and very likely looked like Jews of the same time. His family was clearly of the Jewish faith and his lintage is of the Jews. His comming was fortold in the Jewish Old Testiment along with the fact he would have Jewish lintage.
There is no evidence to support he was black or that Mary was black. But if that somehow makes you believe in him so be it. It don't make any difference to me what shade of color his eyes, hair or skin was. If he was black I would have no problem with that. The important part was his purpose and message.
There is discriptions of him by other historians and they do not describe him as "black". Who knows exactly what he looked like. I doubt that he had blue eyes and blond hair just based upon what Jews look like today.
As to who killed him and why. The leading Jews of the time wanted Jesus killed and he was killed at their request by the Roman's. So take your pick as to who to blame the Jews or the Roman soldiers who nailed him on the cross and stuck a sword in his side. You can make up your own mind whether to blame the Jews or the Romans or the entire people of the time. Take your pick and if you want to blame the whiteman (whoever that is suppose to be or represents to you) I guess you will.
I doubt though that he would want us to play the game of whitey or blackie over him. Who cares --- the message he came to deliver and the purpose he gave his life for is the important part.

Why don't you try praying for this poor man and anyone he victimized, instead of gloating like an idiot. You had better hope that God is more merciful than you-what of your sins? Remember friend, Hell is a long time.

Why don't all of you modern day pharisees try praying for this poor man and anyone he victimized, instead of gloating over his death like a dirt load of idiots. You had better hope that God is more merciful than you-what of your sins? Remember friends, Hell is a long time.

Everyone that knew him said he was a pretty bad alcoholic so it's likely his liver gave out. That is actually a horrendous death so here's hoping.

Fr Brian was worshipped and adored by many people in Garden City and Stewart Manor. He was at all the parties, had a membership to the Garden City Country Club and went to all the Yankee games. This man was treated like a celebrity. He even went to Boston with a bunch of men and their sons to see a game and said mass in the hotel room. This guy was the devil! He was always with young boys and drank way too much...but the faithful parishioners of St Anne's trusted him and rewarded him with money and memberships to country clubs. I hope none of their sons were victimized by that pig. May he rot in hell!
