I am of the opinion that Pope Francis, by his ambiguity, is building up an expectation of change, that will not be delivered. His Holiness is fundamentally orthodox and there will be no changes to church doctrine, and all the liberals who are dancing with joy will be let down. But also confusion is being sown among many faithful catholics who are not getting a clear message. The Pope is therefore failing in his task as the supreme authoritative teacher of the faith. I am also getting increasingly annoyed that pressure is being placed on bishops to emulate the Popes liefestyle. The Pope is a Jesuit who has taken vows of poverty, most diocesan priests do not take this vow. I have no problem with a bishop driving a quality car and I am yet to be convinced that the Popes driving a Ford Focus will make on eiota of difference to the worlds poor.
