It is wise for catholic leadership to stay away from subjects about which they know nothing

The archbishop might need to meet with Pope Benedict. Pope Benedict was the one in charge of the Catholic faith under JP2 and helped write the new church "viewpoint" of gays and lesbians.

The R.C.C.'s articles of faith say gays and lesbians are part of God's creation. Then it goes on to say we should be celibate. It's a very mixed bag but I don't think it calls for refusing to perform the Rites of the Church just because a person is gay or lesbian.

There's nothing to know besides.. The dead are dead and not going anywhere.. Nor would they want to, if reports of "the other world" were at all believable.. It's boring (or violent) enough down here, thank you..

Not being catholic myself... I find it odd that the church would actively turn away people seeking to belong while you read of dioceses across the country and in other parts of the world closing parishes. Doesn't seem to be a plan for growth.

They are against homosexuality but don't look down on fornication or adultery. Sin is sin..one is not greater than the other you can't pick and choose to say one sin is wrong and be cool with the other wrong doings.

The whole point is....there should not be a sole focus of sexuality-based kind of mass.
The suggestion was it would be more nondiscriminatory
to insist the attenders filter back to their home parishes and join in the masses held there.
They don't go out of the way to have "only woman"
masses or "only baby masses". Why should they single out someone's sexuality or single out anything, for that matter, to rally a mass around
which should be rallied around Christ, in the first place.
Good call ! A church should not 'define' a person
by who they go to bed with.

Is he having a mass for child molesters and their supporters. This is a subject they know about. How did they get away with a hundred years of murder and slave labor in the magdalane laundries? Amin wants to know how they do it so when I am resurrected I can take them over.

Your continual attempts and rationalizing for further subversion and decadence of America is noted. Any chance you and the left wing *ews can move to Ishrael? Is there also any chance you freaks will force this disgusting Chit into a mosque anytime soon?
Or are you a flucking coward too?
Yeah........I thought so.

I say all Catholics should remain celibate 'til that whole damn cult disappears. I guess the RCC thinks God was wrong when He told all to "be fruitful and multiply".

I love your post and fully agree with it.

Now you're someone who pays attention. Thank you - for those who weren't aware of it, that's valuable info.

Gays and lesbians can go to Mass as often as its offered. There just won't be a Mass dedicated to them specifically. They're being treated equally, right? They go to Mass with the other worshippers.

Who wasn't aware of it?

I'm not sure why that's 'valuable info', as you put it.

Well, they certainly don't want gay people praying in a church! God HATES prayer.

Odd concept.

There are masses in Spanish and Korean. Guitar masses for modern folks. Latin masses for traditionalists. There are masses with sign language for the deaf, and youth masses for the young folks.

Why are all of these "special interest groups" being treated differently? You should protest the inequality!!

Well, not exactly. The Last Supper set the stage.

Followers gathering and sharing a meal while learning about their faith from a wise teacher.

It's just human nature to ritualize it and dress it up.
