It is not moronic but tragic in that in as much as he is saying this the Church he leads does not do this for it's own lay employees.

Catholic lay employees are not allowed or highly discouraged from unionizing in too many cases. On the parish level a lay employe has no guarantee of employment as pastors come and go and too often want to "clean house" so they can bring their friends in. I know of a pastoral assistant who was let go because the priest no longer wanted to pay the employee's benefits. I know Catholic educators who are on reduced utility rates or receiving food stamps because their income qualifies them for the help. Yes, the Church does a lot of good for the poor. Still lay employees doing just work should get a just wage.

It is this type of poster that makes internet sites like this so unpleasant. It's one thing to get into heated discussions with intelligent posters those who don't agree with you. This type of poster has nothing intelligent to say but chooses to flit about with their ignorance exposed to all on the site.
