Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday called for an "end to the bloodshed" in conflict-wracked Syria in a traditional Christmas message that touched on several other of the world's conflict zones.

..... I am not aware of the pope lamenting about any savage acts by any member of the Roman Catholic Church in ANY location on this planet, nor am I aware of him threatening ex-communication of any member not obeying the requirements of God.
